interesting read, i would definitely lean towards the fake side, but worth it for a good story.
Thanks

Please, literary greats, post the amazon links to the books you've written. Or the the new york times links to your op-eds and critique stories. I'd love to read either. You can criticize their criticism all you like, but this isn't a valid way to do it. You don't need to be at the top of a field, or even notable, to criticize works in that field.
Of course not, but when you do it pretentiously with an air of superiority, I assume you've got something to show for all that bombast

Mankind will take a step forward when it stops romanticizing ridiculous shit like this. But i dont ever see it happening. Humans are going to grind their gears on the same 5 subject matters until the end of time, never learning anything, never realizing anything, never moving past the basic. But it wont matter, because there will always be a fresh crop of new humans to pick up being miserable and spinning their wheels right where the last generation left off.
So lesson learned is: if you are going to write a song, poem, story, book, or movie, just make it about heroin and youll get ten times the attention from the public. Even if the story or writing is talentless. In fact, you could probably slack off quite a bit in your skill, and just rely on controversial subject matter to bail you out. You might get like... who knows... 5 guys out there out of 10000 that see through you and call you on being a hack, but the rest of the people will call you a genius and an artist. Why waste time trying to tell a great story when you can just be like "drugs blah blah blah, murder blah blah blah, more drugs blah blah" and cash in? Edgy subject matter is a piss poor substitute for strong writing. Piss. Poor. So who's right, you or 99% of people who read this and find it really entertaining? He's actually right. Lol you and him should just run the world, because you're sooo much better then everybody else. criticism of a blatantly fake OP story combined with a juvenile take on drug dealing that disrespects addicts and the actual dealing of heroin in a thread about such topics seems fine with me. Sorry if we don't think a "my first client was a fat chick" writing style along with "a man on every corner' theme is engrossing and "cool". If anything it just shows the writer of such a poor story needs to develop more as a person and writer to tackle such a story in non "badass dealer" way. I pretty much agree with this, at least as far as to say that the story itself could have been written better. Since we've pretty much established that it's fiction and not really a true-life confession, I think a higher stylistic expectation is definitely allowed if not warranted.
However, I disagree with your gripe that the story's "juvenile take on drug dealing disrespects addicts." Drug addicts are not firefighters. Their lives deserve our sympathy and understanding, but certainly not our respect.

I just don't see how people can live with themselves knowing they have committed murder, and got away with it : / And by murder, I mean the guy he first saw OD on his stuff. (call it assisted suicide if you want).
Which leads me to think that the story is fake. Any normal person without a brain chemical imbalance would probably be in shambles knowing that fact. And the "kid" in this story didn't even show a marginal concern! He just called the cops, and went on his merry way.
I don't sympathize with the mother fucker at all if he is real. Relishing in the fact that he got out of it as being a good thing is utterly rediculous. He basically killed somebody. And knew it. And didn't care... The guy was 18/19ish. So what. There is no excuse for taking a human life. Ever.
Edit: However, the story was really well written IMO!

fake. thats not how the drug game works. no one gives away 2 keys of anything. 10k/week but only net 60k after being robbed. cmon man....

What he did was still against the law...and he should be in jail...but still very interesting read.

This story isn't real. The protagonist is obviously in the phone memory (and/or some other shit laying around) of all the people implicated/killed, some gangsters fingered him. and he just so happens to be moving out when the cops show up.
Pretty fishy. You think the gangsters would finger a shit load of people like the detectives said? Why would they finger anyone but him?
Also, the protagonist in the story is a dirty rat. Made the cops go do his dirty work. He's just as guilty as the people he setup with all the crap that went down.

wtf are we arguing about? Yea people can write better than this. This may or may not be true. It gave some names so even go look it up if you really want to verify it. Theres nothing wrong with pointing out that it might be fake since you guys read it anyway. Stop complaining about people pointing out that its fake since you're derailing it one step further.
Because it's not a cool story. It's stereotypical. It's as cookie cutter as they come.

Read this from its earlier post, definitely recommended.

is there a spark notes or summarized version of this? i wana read it as it sounds interesting, however, i am quite nearly "the most laziest man in the world" and the OP has more words than I read in a year for scholastic activities.

I don't see what everyone is complaining about. I chose to suspend my disbelief and go on the assumption that it's actually true. I was thoroughly entertained. Apart from a few clichéd stylistic choices, I thought it was quite well-written as well.

Yea the guy OD'd on his stuff. But how the hell can you blame the dealer and act like the Heroin user had no responsibility? If i go smoke cigarettes that will kill me (eventually) Its my damn fault. Hell cigarettes kill like half a million americans every year but im not going around calling tobacco companies murders. They sell something dangerous, users know that it is dangerous, and the users just dont care enough to stop. Its not like that guy he saw OD was arrogant enough to think doing this was just benign and unaddictive. Im 99.999% sure he understood heroin could kill him. Everyone i know understands hard drugs are dangerous. Its known by everyone. He just didnt care and decided the high was worth gambling his life over. Its basically Natural Selection.
Edit: Also the character does express regret and fear when the dude OD'd. He also attempted to give the dude CPR. But once someone is dead from an OD stopping their heart and respiration, an ambulance really cant do shit They could try to use a defibrillator but after being in cardiac arrest for the 5-15 mins it takes the paramedics to get to the house and begin to dfib him the chances of a successful recovery are just so so slim.

I dont normally read articles this long, the length usually puts me off. But this one had me hooked from the start.
Great stuff

Thanks for the insightful share, definitely got me thinking. My wife's reading it now so we can discuss it a bit, since we're country folk and not a huge lot of this sort of stuff happens around here.
