Story is fake: Cool story wtf are we arguing about? Yea people can write better than this. This may or may not be true. It gave some names so even go look it up if you really want to verify it. Theres nothing wrong with pointing out that it might be fake since you guys read it anyway. Stop complaining about people pointing out that its fake since you're derailing it one step further.

Humans are going to grind their gears on the same 5 subject matters until the end of time, never learning anything, never realizing anything, never moving past the basic. But it wont matter, because there will always be a fresh crop of new humans to pick up being miserable and spinning their wheels right where the last generation left off. So lesson learned is: if you are going to write a song, poem, story, book, or movie, just make it about heroin and youll get ten times the attention from the public. Even if the story or writing is talentless. In fact, you could probably slack off quite a bit in your skill, and just rely on controversial subject matter to bail you out. You might get like... who knows... 5 guys out there out of 10000 that see through you and call you on being a hack, but the rest of the people will call you a genius and an artist. Why waste time trying to tell a great story when you can just be like "drugs blah blah blah, murder blah blah blah, more drugs blah blah" and cash in? Edgy subject matter is a piss poor substitute for strong writing. Piss. Poor. So who's right, you or 99% of people who read this and find it really entertaining?

Heroin dealing, and heroin use in general is romanticized by undergrad / poor writers like whoever wrote the story in OP. They want to do something less boring so they pick something like heroin and completely miss what drug dealing / addiction is really about. If it was a true story it would actually be readable and not such trite shit about "a man on every street" that came from some kid in a dorm room being edgy. Or "The fat chick" who I sold heroin to for the first time. It reeks of immaturity and ignorance.

Lol you and him should just run the world, because you're sooo much better then everybody else. criticism of a blatantly fake OP story combined with a juvenile take on drug dealing that disrespects addicts and the actual dealing of heroin in a thread about such topics seems fine with me. Sorry if we don't think a "my first client was a fat chick" writing style along with "a man on every corner' theme is engrossing and "cool". If anything it just shows the writer of such a poor story needs to develop more as a person and writer to tackle such a story in non "badass dealer" way.

Please, literary greats, post the amazon links to the books you've written. Or the the new york times links to your op-eds and critique stories. I'd love to read either.

Since he said he "made a blog" a while ago I was under the impression he was the author. Clearly this is a false notion. Having said that, I enjoyed the read thoroughly for what it's worth -- entertaining fiction. The style isn't bad in my opinion, but uniquely written and even a bit too eloquent for a drug dealer with horrible grades. As far as authenticity, this person was either a real NYU student or used Wikipedia and Google Maps way too much because I pretty much recognize every location that was written about.
