So right now in the Midwest US and heading east and north is a ridiculous snowstorm. According to weather.com this storm system is going to affect 24+ states and over 100 million people. The storm is dumping in excess of 12 inches of snow on the vast majority of the affected states and is accompanied by wind gusts in excess of 50 mph. Some areas had .25 inches to over 1 inch of ice before the snowfall. Snowfall near the Great Lakes is expected to exceed 2 feet.

I'm right in the middle. Woohoo -40 degree windchill.

First time I have ever heard "School cancelled due to life-threatening windchill". Pretty freaking sick.

I'm in it right now. My walk back from my frat house was brutal. The ice blows in sideways and feels like knives. Visibility is way down. My University cancelled classes for the first time in decades.

Crazy, crazy stuff.

I'm in Boston and nothing's falling right now. Regardless, I'm banking on it coming crashing down as I sleep and cancelling my one class.

And guess what? My school still won't cancel classes!

Although I can't complain. I just heard about a friend who is having -40 degree weather (the point where it doesn't matter if it's Fahrenheit or Celsius). His school's administration has warned everybody that standing outside for longer than five minutes will result in frostbite, but they still won't cancel classes.

I'm in ann arbor, michigan and we are just now getting hit by the storm. Just walked home about 1/2 a mile from campus and it wasn't too big of a deal -- winds were chilly and snow was deep, but nothing ridiculously out of the ordinary.

Everyone around here is praying for more snow, but to be honest, it's gonna totally mess up classes -.- . The teachers will go stir crazy if we close again. Campus ice is pretty bitter cold though.

I'm in the Chicago area. Several major roads have been completely shut down, and dozens of cars are trapped in ditches or on the closed roads. People calling 911 have been told to be prepared to stay in their car for hours until help arrives.

The ice and wind nearly sandblasted my ears off. We're expecting 20 inches tonight. Even though school's officially out, I still have to get to lab. Somehow.

im at university of wisconsin

just walked 1.5 hrs in blinding, razor sharp wind that literally scratched up my face and glasses rofl.

also knee deep half the way, i looked like some drunken idiot stumbling my way home.

i seriously felt like i worked out walking through that snow, almost waist deep at some points. nothing plowed at all. ended up finishing the walk in the middle of the road cuz it was the only area with non-quicksand height snow

The weirdest part is looking outside and seeing bare driveway in some places and 3ft+ snowdrifts in others.

Getting pretty bad up in here in London, Ontario. Blizzard warnings and all.

Been a lot of snow, doesn't seem TOO unusual for London, but it's VERY windy right now. Balcony doors are going haywire.

I'm in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Doesn't seem to be too much right now. It's supposed to pick up in an hour or two though. Right now there's a lot of wind, and some drift and light snow, but nothing that would close schools or business'. Seems to be blown out of proportion.

lol life-threatening. When i was in high-school, in Manitoba, and the windchill was below -45 degrees Celsius the school was still open but buses stopped running in case they broke down on the way to school, then kids might freeze.
