So I have a however I got a scratch on it the other week on its quartz crystal face (Fell down a flight of stairs while drunk) So I now have a very visable scratch on its face however I can't feel the scratch with my finger which makes me think it might just be the reflective coating. Does anyone know how much this would cost to repair or would it be possible? If I have to get a new face its around $400 ![]()

And do you mean the glass or the actual face? And uh, $400...wow. that is a little steep but again, depends on brand and whether or not you scratched the glass or the face.

Check out any local watch repair men in your area and see if you can get it for cheaper. I hope this estimate is from Tag Huerer Tags are expensive, but I have never heard of a single quartz crystal glass costing $400. Edit: Okay, so reread your post and you said it would cost $400 to replace the face. That is reasonable. But seeing how it's on the glass, you don't need to repair the face...Crystal replacement is easy. Just go see a experienced watchmaker in your area. Emphasis on experienced.

Ok excellent thanks so much for that, I was pretty worried. Well it was a watch store which said that but then again when I spoke with them I most likely said face when I was refering to the glass. Thanks again ![]()

Since it's a Tag I wouldn't go for mineral crystal again, since as you noticed, they are easy to scratch, but if you're looking into alternatives for replacing it, you could perhaps polish it, since you're saying the cut is not too deep. It's not guaranteed that it will remove the scratch but it might make it less visible, depending on how deep it is. The people who do polishing should be able to give you an idea at least. My advice, get a sapphire and replace it. It might run you $250 though.

If its gonna be like 500 or 400 I won't have them replace it but I'll just get them to polish it to reduce the visability. I thought Sapphire Crystal was one of the hardest faces to scratch? What would you rate as the most scratch resistant glass?

Yeah Sapphire is the standard on quality watches, it is a lot stronger than mineral crystal, and it's pretty hard to scratch but not impossible. The thing is, there are differences between different sapphire glasses as well, such as thickness, coating, shape, etc. Build quality can be a factor, but >$400 for one is just too much. You can definitely find cheaper on ebay. ![]()

I convinced a friend of mine to get an Orient Mako. Now I want a new watch. Something that fits nice on a NATO but not a diver's... since I have too many. So its either make the band of this + Show Spoiler + into a NATO (although I don't know how), since I don't wear it because I don't like the bracelet that I had put on (the earlier leather one was much uglier) or get a new watch. heheh.

![]() I'm wearing that sexpot right now. I want another one though, since this one only goes with certain things. Something with a larger face, but not Invicta-style large. Invicta is overrated as fuck anyway.

![]() I'm very happy with my current watch. I used to swear by digital watches, but finally got around to get one of these bad boys a couple years ago. Never had any issues
