While at work (got a job at a Costco that opened recently) I spied an intriguing box. After reading it, I decided I would try it out. That box happened to contain a Crossfade LP by V-Moda (got it for 79.99 before tax as well, which contributed to why I snagged it.) Flipped to a song I thought would be a good test of its range/quality and instantly had an eargasm. I never realized the amount of sound quality I had been missing out on songs I sometimes would put on repeat for hours. I litterally feel a tingle running through me from joy, something I've never had a headphone do before. My only complaint is it seems the miniscrewdriver majiggy to change the earplates doesn't seem to work on the screws- I kinda like the red shieldplate over the black shieldplate it comes with.

Had a pair of these for a year until they died on me (internal wires or smth, i used em pretty hard at the gym) and i fucking loved em. Overall great sound and super comfortable, could wear them forever.

any opinion on the STEELSERIES 7H FNATIC? available in their online shop for 115 euro. I don't have any audio equipment, would just use the onboard sound from various computers I have. I wear glasses, so any input on how comfortable they are with glasses on would be welcome.

I have a set of Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 ohms that I love. I use them for my laptop, so I guess that's not an optimal audio source, but I get great sound regardless, even better than my old Sennheisers. However, would a headphone amplifier give me better sound? I never listen to high volume, usually low/low-mid. Would there be a point in buying amplifiers that are not super expensive? =)

As long as your audio source (ipod, computer, laptop, etc.) can drive your headphones to be as loud/clear as you need them, the addition of an amplifier is would only serve the purpose of rebalancing the sound and/or adding effects. If that's the case, you can do that through software (with equalizers). This way, you don't take the risk of getting electrical noise caught in the amplifier, which might be an issue with an 80 ohm setup. On to my question for the thread. I know this is a headphone thread, but I'm looking for a mic. I need something that doesn't sit on my desk, but also isn't a full blown headset. I already have headphones that I really enjoy, and don't want to take those off to use the mic. Any suggestions on a quality mic/setup?

All gaming headsets are bad for audio quality. But if you're just looking for a headset, I guess it's fine. V-Moda headphones are more of a lifestyle headphone. They aren't known for audio quality.

Don't expect too much though. It would have benefited from a amp more if you bought the 250 or 600 ohm version.

So are you aware of any good audio headset from them that works well for glasses? I don't play any games where 3D sound or anything in that direction would be important, good audio quality is way more important.
