Pony Express Issue 101: Nov 17 - Nov. 23, 2009

Best spawns at 1 o clock on Outsider, opening 2 gate Zealots. Roro, spawning at 9, manages to run some lings in and takes a 2nd main for a 3 while Best tries to defend. The Protoss pressure is delayed and Best uses his Zealots to safely expand. Roro techs to Lair and walls off his Sunkens with a Den, getting a Spire as well, as Best threatens to push in. Best's Corsair finds Roro's expo and runs Zealots down while Roro sunks up heavily. The Zealots back off and with 3 unscathed bases Roro is looking good versus the late expandind Best. The latter elevators a bunch of Zealots but, shielding the Hydras with Drones, they are picked off without them doing much damage. While Best gets his third at a backdoor minonly Roro expands takes his own min only. Best tries to do some damage with Reaver/Shuttle/Sair but Roro burrows his Drones just in time and moments later Scourge take down the Shuttle. Things aren't looking good for Best as Roro reasearches Drop and keeps Probes off of mining from the Protoss third using some Lurkers. Meanwhile he expands to 6 and 7 (double gas). Around the 30 minute mark Best moves out with a huge force and storms into Roro's natural. Roro sunks up heavily, puts Hydras on the cliff and has burrowed Lurkers. While the Sunkens get picked off Roro, time and time again snipes Observers with Scourge. Massive Hydras army cuts off Protoss reinforcement but they are shortly dealt with. The natural almost goes down: Roro barely hold it off and has dropped and taken down Best's attempt at expanding at 12. Best is barely mining, relying mainly on the 5 patch mineral only under 12, while Roro has taken 4 o clock.
Best's final army arrives at Roro's natural. Amazing storms go down and even without observers he almosts busts into Roro's main. It's not enough though and the observer reveals a single Zergling at Best's only mining base that has picked off 17 probes. Best's army dwindles as eventually GGs
