Btw, slightly off topi,c but why do people dislike CS:S so much? Purely interested, not trying to start a flamewar.
Everything about it is worse than 1.6. Which was worse than 1.5, etc etc.

Mouse input is so terrible in this game, I really don't know how people manage to play it competitively. Is there some kind of directinput option or something? Or some options I need to change? It's almost like sentivity depends on FPS or something and it just goes nuts sometimes, plus it seems to move slightly up and down at random times.

O_O In Controls, there's a box for Mouse Speed. The logical thing would to make Mouse Speed on = acceleration on, but these are asian game developers so logic means nothing to them. For acceleration off, set mouse speed on.

imagine a point on the middle of your screen
when you are using a sniper, move your screen until the enemy is under that center point
right when that happens, zoom and immediately fire without further aim.
when you get good neuff, the sniper gets imbalanced.
when you are hiding behind corners, listen for footsteps, as they come closer, jump out and surprise them. this means you should hide your own footsteps to prevent this from happening to yourself.

The main thing I dislike about CS:S is nade spam. You can throw grenades so quickly and you can pick up more off the people you kill. Also, the physics on random objects hinders gameplay because they block movement.

Aim for the head. If you are new to FPS games, you might begin spraying as soon as you see an enemy. Conciously aim for the head and burst until it becomes reflexive.
Edit: Jibba, you forgot to add me to the list in the OP. My handle is Durak.

you mean the walk function? i wouldnt use it in firefights. in friefights you probably strafe randomly while erratically crouching and jumping.

I find that being more aware of your surroundings and making more conscious decisions instead of trying to go Rambo helps a lot. Aiming for the head + not spraying is also a must.

My ID is visionz and my nick is vision.
I'm a total noob, is there a place for TL people? I need to improve my mechanics. Also the maps suck, w/e.

Btw, slightly off topi,c but why do people dislike CS:S so much? Purely interested, not trying to start a flamewar. A lot of CS players from past versions dislike CS:S because of the buggy hitboxes, random recoil, funny looking player models (CS:S models' heads are bigger than CS 1.6s'), annoying flashbangs, etc. I have not touch CS:S in about 2 - 2 1/2 years, so I don't know if Valve even updated the game (doubt it) since then. There are tons of videos on YouTube comparing CS:S to past CS versions.

I don't think it's about interacting with us, I think it's just so they can rape us.
