For those who don't know, the gameplay is basically CS 1.3 but there's a few tweaks with weapons and stuff. It was originally Korean only, but they've opened up a North American beta.
So far there's lots of players, but not all the Korean items are available. :/
Beats CS 1.6? Not even. A lot of free fps games are really bad in terms of gameplay and most of them have the same features as CS (bomb plant or rescue hostages). Usually Korean made FPS games require you to play a lot in order to get ingame money on which you spend on weapons, or rental that last either a day, a week, or a month. Also the recoil pattern is random as fuck compared to CS 1.6 since it has one of the best recoil patterns for a fps game, which is why it's the best competitive team based fps game. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but people who say *insert free fps game here* beats CS 1.6 or Call of Duty 4 are usually bad at the game itself so they play free fps games that has horrible recoil patterns so they can get random kills and actually be decent at a bad game. Or they jumped on the Korean fps game bandwagon just because Koreans themselves play it. Hell, I'd rather play CS:S over any free fps game.

I was in CAL-i and I made most of CAL-p my bitch for 2/3 of a season. Not to mention CS was a free fps game too.
That said, I haven't figured out the spray recoil yet and the recoil doesn't seem as good as CS, but it feels pretty solid with bursts (as long as you choose the right weapon.) The netcode/hitboxes are weird so long range actually feels really good, whereas up close gets kind of iffy.
It's more fun than 1.6 because you're not getting destroyed by movement speed like you are in everything post-1.4. You can pistol in the air (accuracy decreases same as regular running, I believe) and you can quick shot with snipers really easily. The TRG isn't enabled right now so it hasn't turned into an AWP/deagle fest yet, but I can see it happening on some maps. It's much faster than 1.6.
Oh, and the maps are really bad, but that's just from a pub perspective.
The game seems fast-paced, which is definitely appealing to me as a casual gamer (1.6 was too slow for my taste at times) and it seems to me that a lot of the pubs are in deathmatch mode, which I like as well.
Seems like a really fun game to play with friends in a LAN party or something; I'll definitely give it a shot
The funny thing is the general ideas behind these maps is all taken from different CS maps. The themes are totally different, but the layouts are very similar to different CS maps. Hopefully there's some sort of map editor with this thing. It's definitely more fun to pub, I'm not sure about competition though.
Airport = Nuke, Chinaplace = Aztec, Depot = Dust, etc.
More thoughts: The magnum is $$$. Not quite a 1.3 deagle, but fairly close. Haven't gotten an AK yet (wasted money on flashes >.>) but the default autorifles are worthless except the N1a Carbin (nice name change!) Dragu isn't 100% damage, but you an still get a 1shot kill if you're accurate. Not good at quickshotting with it yet, and not sure how accurate noscoping is.
I actually like the idea behind limiting you to 1 type of nade at a time, because you don't have to worry about flashes in pubs. The flashes aren't bad, but the nades are perfect for playing against idiots. In matches, you'd have to plan out your comp a bit more and I think that's a good thing.
I would be up for some scrims (as a breath of new air, for some fun), however, it would be lovely if they sent me my damned confirmation email first :|.

And it DEFINITELY beats Source.
how do you mean iffy? ( referring to the hit boxes) is it iffy like Battle field 2 horribad or is it just slightly bellow average?
I play Source mainly but I follow CS a lot and play a few hours a month.. Not gonna turn this into a complete bitchfest about what game is best as we all know how productive that is.
I do gotta say though, CS with nice graphics does have a lot of appeal so I'm downloading it.
Wow, I just played my first round on it (a deathmatch with crappy players) and it's definitely a solid game. Hitreg is great Of course, I still need to try out its CS-style game mode, but I'm sure it's good.
