But what about the false positives who are truly innocent or don't know/understand that they have broken a rule? I have been in that situation before with a temp ban from a game with no idea what i did wrong. I was like 8 years old at the time and a mod was kind enough to quote me a rule and show an instance of my breaking it, which is fair and totally makes sense.
Your line of logic reminds me of a common attitude towards prison systems in some parts of the world - "If you can't handle stupid/unfair shit, don't break the law".
---------
Staff could go public with what rules the player broke but this would be unprofessional and would allow the players to cry and come up with excuses or lies.
Nobody is asking them to go public but if somebody is accused of breaking a rule and getting punished for it, they should at the very least be told which rule they are breaking. What would you say if you were arrested by a police officer and he says hey, you did something illegal, guess what? Then you are detained for a week, interviewed every couple days and asked to admit to your crimes. It's beyond ridiculous. You go back again to "If you don't like it, don't play" - there's no other solution when false positives or misunderstandings could be involved.
False positives might be expected if this was a random temp ban or silence, but they do background checks on all the players submitted to OWC rosters. The likelihood of a mistake is very low.
You again go back to false analogies to police and government. In these cases people are born into the systems and as such there are higher standards on transparency. I have yet to hear any good reason why "fuck off if you don't like it" doesn't just end the discussion. What gives anyone the right to tell staff how to run their game. 'I had this free entertainment from you so now you are obligated to treat me in such and such a way' is pretty delusional in my opinion. As I said the staff gain nothing from telling the players what they did since it just allows for excuses. If they told Enon he multiaccounted on a specific date what does it achieve, if he admits it after then why should they care or allow him to play. If he denies it and comes up with an excuse why would they believe him. As it is by forcing rule breakers to admit what they did they are at least forced to acknowledge it themselves which is the first step for them apologising if they want to keep playing THEIR game.

They don't have to care or believe him; it's not about the staff. It's about having a judicial system that's not broken/BS which affects all people, innocent or guilty.
I don't see a fundemental difference between the two; you seem to care far less because it's a game funded entirely on "donations" (monetary exchange for features) rather than one that outright charges money. If the playerbase wasn't mostly 12-14 yr olds and the game wasn't underground, such behavior wouldn't fly at all. I'm honestly surprised that it's accepted as much as it is, even though every osu community that's unmoderated by the staff freaks out about it on a weekly basis.
Saying it's broken is wrong, if it was broken it would fail to accomplish what it is intended to do. It is intended to filter out rule breakers from the player base.
It doesn't matter whether you pay for the game or not, you chose to pay if you did, and it's your fault if you did so without knowing that you could live if the result wasn't what you expected. It has nothing to do with the playerbase or the popularity. It is their game, you are under no obligation to play it, they can do what they like within the law. As for 'every community', there are so few the main being reddit which is full of cheats and liars anyway. I've already explained why the system they have now is the best one available even if it isn't perfect so I'm not going to discuss it further. If they tried to bend over backwards to be 'fair' in they way you expect the game would be a joke in terms of rankings and tournaments because you are never going to get indubitable proof that someone has broken rules unless they use some ridiculous kind of cheat.
You guys are lightyears ahead of me d=. I'm going to jump on for a bit. I haven't played in ages but if anyone feels like joining me just shoot me a msg.
Did they fix the circle fade-in time? I didn't play for a while (been super busy with WoW and other stuff) and it feels reaaaaaally different but i don't see anything in the recent patch notes
i may just be seeing things but it looks very different to me at the moment (in a good way)
I need better comparisons and one without background, but i was watching one of my videos every day at ar10 and it looks much better to read now
I'm assuming you took those on your phone? The ambient lighting and the camera's automatic iso/exposure time/f stop adjustments makes it useless as a comparison tool tbh.

Shitty webcam on the same settings. Go compare for yourself, just load up the game and look at 10 - 10.33 compared to previous version or video. There are no automatic adjustments, it just looks shit at -6 exposure so that it can actually capture the screen properly. My screen isn't bright, either..
wish i took more pictures before now (at certain times, like 20ms, 50ms, 100ms after circle first appeared) - not sure if i just had a reading skill leap or if they actually changed it

You block messages from people not on your friendlist btw.
For the Hvick plays, it's not the speed that amazes me. It's the SS or near-SS on OD9.6 - 10.33 that he regularly pulls off while also being comfortable at that speed
