You replace all of the mp3's/wav's for those files in the skin with silent ones of the same name. (the ones you'll want to keep are probably hitnormal.mp3 and hitsoft.mp3 i think)
I've been training streaming lately and I want to know if you guys have anything unique or special you did to improve your keyboard clicking. Personally this is what I do:
1) Train at lower bpms (atm sub 140 bpm) 2) Listen very closely to hitsounds/music 3) Focus on alternating fingers as closely as possible 4) Once I feel comfortable with the maps/speeds I am playing, I increase the difficulty and bpm slightly 5) Repeat 1-4
I especially seem to have problems with 3. I monitor my keystrokes and it turns out that during a lot of streams i overtap or undertap through them.
Some maps work a lot better in my head when practicing, others don't. I find it most natural to stream around 175, and if i were to start out at 130 or 210bpm it would be really weird
you shouldn't neccesarily associate higher BPM with more difficulty. A lot of stuff, particularly with HR, is hard and low BPM. Remote Control is like 165bpm od9 (10 with HR) for example and i found it outside of the slow-end of my comfort zone for speed, so with that level of OD i was only able to do ~97% nomod and ~95% with HR.
One thing that might be good is using osu BPM changer tool to make the same map like 130 - 220bpm for example, with appropriate AR.
Speaking of AR.. I find it easier to practice streams with varied AR, i sometimes push it up or down a bit until it feels the most natural and then focus on just streaming. Likewise if you're trying to practice reading, going lower or higher AR than normal for the map is quite cool
a huge amount of my streaming problems are reading related, for example mostly when playing HR maps (but this happens for any map) when i get a stream that's about 10-20 circles long, i often get a mental hiccup and derp the second half of the stream because of the low amount of circles on screen or the weird (to me) low BPM + low circle count combination. That's just a matter of practice, but 6 months, 1 year ago i had a HUGE list of things that made me mentally trip up and fail in the same ways over and over and over again. That list is a lot shorter now.
the 1 miss playssssss :D (the red circle at 1:09)
I like that map, 0:35 to end so intense~ It's just about right on difficulty where i can generally snap to everything but it's still very hard and i got a bit lucky to 1x miss it with a single play
Cheatreal just got ranked!! It's 226pp for 95% on Extra diff (od8), 291 for SS. The map is kinda different than the unranked one that i had for ages though. I think we can both take a shot at that (:
Although it's not long after my ambitions rant, i'm not really taing a shot at anything. Atm I'm playing mania and easymod mainly to have fun, because i can play that without having to warm up. (i have very little time ): )
After playing mania i can read standard like twice as good. I don't understand why bobbias isn't a god at standard.
Since, everyone's posting that map's score: click I really, really dislike it. It makes no sense at all to me. Luckily i didn't need to read to play it, and my aim hasn't fallen off completely.
I really dislike it too. When i first played it, i played the ar10 version and i oddly couldn't really read it properly so i just quit after 15 seconds and didn't give it much thought, but i played the ar9 version after and i can play it well but i don't like it.
Valar sent me a few really fun maps recently though, i'l post a few links and maybe short video clips
http://osu.ppy.sh/b/384589 ^very fun, fast. Some insane jump sections where circles bounce back onto the same place sometimes, so it's confusing and hard to read, but not necessarily in a bad way.
You might want to play this one with relax, to appriciate the difficulty of reading some parts and not just be overwhelmed by ohmygodsofast stuff and threat of death too. I guess nofail might work if you're a bit better at these speeds than me.

http://osu.ppy.sh/b/366551 nice map, quite intense (and ar10) but also one that you can get into the rhythm of playing a lot. It's probably 8/10 difficulty for me because it's hard enough to keep me on edge at times (i'm not that comfortable on ar10) and it does have some more intense parts, on both jumps/spacing and keyboard. It does go to like 2000 combo too. The other difficulty is kinda fun, but not as good quality IMO.
my favourite part is when the music changes slightly like at 4:00 and the way the map is with the short stream into slider followed by some jumps that just feel right :D (some lovely triplets thrown in, too)
Cyro, the first map is fun indeed! I think i played it a few times before passing it. And with only 91% even ): It's really long as well, I remember my hand hurt a bit after playing.
I have not seen it yet, might be fun modded to 200bpm. I can apparently hit about 220 for moderate length streams but that's stretching my limits and it wouldn't hold up to lots of spacing
That time freeze map is awful IMO for a spaced stream map
FD4D >>> Blue Zenith >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> time freeze
the streams dont fit in with music at all.. fd4d puts a circle on every sound, while this map just has streams which happen to be the same bpm as the music
