I managed to pass mad machine and failed freedom dive (another) in the last 15 seconds because I got too excited. ![]() edit: pen just broke...gg What do you mean by tttl style? :$ Plus, i can't find your account anymore. I got one of those huion tablets and the drivers are garbage, maybe it's because of boot camp? I banged my wacom pen a bit and it's kinda working again so I can play for now... :/

TTTL style is where you tap on the tablet with your pen and use one key on the keyboard. It allows you to stream ~200 forever at the cost of really inconsistent accuracy. I got one of those huion tablets and the drivers are garbage, maybe it's because of boot camp? I banged my wacom pen a bit and it's kinda working again so I can play for now... :/ I suck at tablet in general, so i can't even imagine how tttl would work out for me. I did notice there were small cursor issues when touching the tablet with the pen, like the cursor not moving while my pen did just after. That probably was because i had a bad tablet, though. I once considered a keyboard/mouse click hybrid style, but my aim went pretty bad, and i had no feel for streams at all. Not saying it's bad, i know lesjuh did some very impressive things with it.

Passed second try: http://www.twitch.tv/cyrostarcraft/b/514844775 apparently can't read that kind of pace very well because i got much better at the slower maps like a few that you gave me, but completely failderped like 5+ times in terms of timing and mouse movement there right now i'm trying to improve quite a lot of things: 1; Aim!! where mouse should be and when it should be there, other mental stuff. I found a few times i got better at the game in general and suddenly wasn't good enough here, enough to have a lot of issues, you can improve so much unexpectedly just by improving this 2; Stamina for mouse+KB+posture 3; sustained stream speed (currently at about 165) 4; stream stability across a range of speeds 5; mouse comfort 6; mouse accuracy 7;max speed bursts for up to ~10 long streams 8; complex patterns with 2 fingers quick list, probably missed out and forgot some stuff I want to be able to FC this with smaller circle size, right now i can't put my mouse where i want it to and i end up making a lot of silly mistakes and failed snaps due to wrist being tense so need to fix that I'm much much more comfortable with left-right than i am angles, on 1:04 to 1:08 there, the two cross-screen jumps on the X axis at the end to the two sliders are super easy for me compared to other stuff Playing with DPI a little! 1:45-2:00 is my fav bit!

I'm using 500 dpi at resolution 1280x800. This means i have to move my mouse 2.56 inches to cross screen from left to right. With cyro's settings, you'll need 2.37 inches to cross screen. So our settings are quite similar. I just re-read this - i want to point out that since the osu playing area does not scale to widescreen, you're actually modifying your sens by changing from 1280x720 to 1280x800 i think (you're making the play area taller, thus also wider as it's effectively a square, not a rectangle that changes shape with aspect ratio) even though you wouldn't calculate it otherwise for comparing sens in osu if that's true, you must use the same aspect ratio (16 : 9 for most people) though you can make pretty accurate approximations

I'll try again the next few days and worst case I need to get a new one to be honest, I Kindof expected this to happen sooner, as I dropped wine into my laptop Like a year ago. But I foolishly thought the danger was gone. All my maps gone, skin gone, settings gone if forgotten. I had some very good not submitted maps as well, so those are lost as well. Fuck this shit. TT Also, the map kaldr played is a fantastic map. My favourite natteke map atm. Very Nice jumps and natteke esque rhythms.

All my maps gone, skin gone, settings gone if forgotten. If it's a problem with anything aside from HDD, you can just grab it out of the laptop and run it from any other system with all data intact np if it's HDD problem, you can drop in a new one and all's fine for a low price

On that note though I actually will ask something So recently, I've been trying to get into the habit of reading ahead on maps. Something I've noticed since I've been trying to get better at this is I'm just "trusting myself to have my mouse where it needs to be" Example: I read a pattern -> I move on to the next one while I go through that pattern on "auto pilot" from my memory. This may have very adverse effects though so I'm going to ask.. Is this a really bad habit to be building? Like in the immediate it has helped me out a lot with singles because I'm not stressing and worrying over each note or jump between. I just estimate it and time my finger taps with the music. Usually if I miss it's because I either: 1) stuttered my fingures (I have a bad habit of deciding I should lead with index on x or w/e. and then deciding after I see the full pattern [or most of it], that beginning with middle on z is better. This leads to some really awkward moments where I stutter and either mash both buttons or neither. 2) My acc is just atrocious and I don't even end up with my cursor on the note at all. 3) I miss-read the pattern. There was a single at the end of a double triplet or w/e I miss cuz I'm bad ;p. Note that option 2 is the problem I'm trying to fix with this method in the beginning. If I stay on the pattern, I find I tense up and usually over/undershoot my target all together and end up with misses at worst, combo breaks at best. So just wondering if I'm doing the right thing here to try to correct that problem or if I should take a different approach?

If you can't comfortably hit notes without looking at them, you should probably not read too far ahead and focus a bit more on your cursor position - that's part of why i have the big "+" thing on screen now - it helps to identify cursor position without focusing eyes on it Rewatching vid, on the 8-jump pattern, my eyes flash across 1-2-3 before my cursor reaches the first note, i'm basically reading two jumps ahead throughout those 8 jumps. I probably don't do that all of the time, but if you can read 1 jump ahead it probably helps, if not then just read+jump as you can i guess Not really sure if that's the best way to play, because i didn't talk a lot in depth with better players than me about it, but it seems to work quite well. My fails are almost entirely either this or mouse fails. I order a Xornet earlier to see if i'm more comfortable with it, and i'm looking at stuff like the Avior 7000 edit: Actually, i run into this with sustained streams too. If i could stream constantly, i could probably hold a combo into many hundreds for 170bpm solid stream, but i kind of pause/stutter and then i have to vary my tempo to catch up, which i can do to hold combo indefinitely at like 140/150bpm, but it gets harder the faster i go to correct, and also happens more often. I think it might just go away with stream practice
