Challenging yourself with difficult maps is the best way to improve o.ob
On a side note, I finally FC'd symphonic love with DT.

I do that all the time. I'd say it's better than the other way. Personally I find playing maps above your comfort zone is a faster way to improve. Mind you my accuracy isn't as good as someone who sat there trying to 100% boring maps. I hope your not only playing stuff you can't pass though, some variety is good.
Could you give some examples of maps that you consider extremely well mapped, or give me a list of mappers who you think are better than many of the current ones?
I'm not sure if this was directed specifically towards that guy, but I think osuplayer111 makes very good maps.

There's no "correct" way to play the game lol
Just do whatever you have fun playing
I wouldn't recommend playing maps that kill you within 5 seconds because I don't really see how that helps you improve, but playing maps that are just beyond your ability is an effective way to improve quickly, then once you can pass those you can find even harder maps to work on, etc.

Hey now, quilliam/mochi/prototype's Hacking to the gate is great, but easily kills me within 5 seconds if I fuck that opening up!

But that's my worst map D:

I agree! I told you that opening was bad. Also your map with most plays by far, lol.

I recall bitching about that too just after he told me to play the map.
MegamanEXE list is fun so far. I don't notice the differences between terrible maps and good maps because I'm still far from you guys. Looking forward to Bobbias thoughts.
Been a long time I didn't post here. So busy recently.
I won't be going very in depth, and it's going to be pretty subjective, but if something stands out as feeling weird or some other obvious issue shows up... Inconsistent spacing is something that bugs the hell out of me unless the song does something that could allow them to change the spacing.
A lot of the older maps are on slower ARs, which makes it harder for me since I'm best with either AR8 or AR9, and i'll bitch about that a lot. That, and small circles, lol. Sometimes they dont bother me, but most of the time they do.
I wish the game were scored based on accuracy rather than combo length >_< so annoying to get 96-97% accuracy on a song and get an A because I screw up my combo, when my highest score has 4 misses and a combo that is 4 more than my 96-97% one >_<
wooooo! Finally S'd this song!
edit3: I was just screwin around with my tablet and took the cover off my pen- so I could just tap my way through the songs with the pen- and it is actually quite amusing to watch the cursor jump around the screen because my pathing isn't being picked up by the game with the tablet in pen mode =0p
does anybody actually play osu by tapping their pen?

Well there is exactly why. It's more difficult to full combo a song than to get high accuracy.

Some people alternate between pen tap and z, it allows you to play very fast stuff because you're not putting all the stress on one hand, but it's really bad for streams.
Didn't even know you could search country rankings like that. I'm ranked 113 in canada apparently. AutomobileV is ranked exactly 100. CygnusKnight is 81. Shinxyn is apparently ranked 71 in canada. SimplistiC is 35. Yoshh is 19, and Xafina is 18, lol. hoLysoup is ranked 12. mochi is ranked 10. SilentWings is ranked 7.
(I just picked names I recognized in the list, and didn't check past my own name)
