Trust me, the farther out you go, the more profitable it gets. Out in null it can get ridiculous, I can make what I did in a day of lvl 4s in maybe 15-20 minutes, and I know people who went from basically broke to flying a brand new carrier in just under 2 weeks. The risk of ganks is always tiny if you are actually aware of your surroundings and know how to react properly.
eve forums have some posts which could be directly from blizz wow forums xD bolded the good parts...

The patch broke my eve again. This time it says repair.exe is broken and it needs to fix it by patching it. Unfortunately repair.exe wants to patch the file repair.exe but can't because repair.exe is already in use so it wants me to close repair.exe so repair.exe can continue to repair repair.exe.

Sigh.
Don't worry, though. When you get everything working and patched and all, you can come back into the game and manually redo all your accounts' UI settings... again.

Cool, EVE is turning into the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy
Stop linking this shit, I get this arbitrary need to write a long detailed post about how stupid they are, and that's distracting me from writing my report.
