Summary Of Events -Pirate Cane jumped into Isto after I just jumped the gate into Odde. -Pirate Drake on the other side.
I'm with Nej on the odd side holding cloak, Drake has joined the Cane on the Odde side of the gate, he states he's going to try to warp, than if that fails, burn to gate. At this point, I think to myself, I'll burn off the gate and warp. Corp knows everything going on already, one of our drakes lands on the gate, I immediately than think, hey, we have a bunch of people, we're going to get them. Second Pirate drake jumps in. Nej jumps, they switched to me just before he jumped, short pointed, I have nothing. No one else in fleet jumps in.
What I should have done was warp off immediately, than warp back and join the fight if others came to help, Nej would certainly live no matter what, since they all have the no jump timer.
First Harb loss. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9640194 And a bottle of Quafe zero

I have no problem with this. Last month we did a massive hi5ing brag post about how we caught a carrier in space but couldn't do it alone so we called in all the most expensive stuff from the intel channels. SPAM saw it and knew if he put a carrier where we could tackle it then it could bait out intel channel caps. The intel channel is semipublic and the only rule is you don't try and kill the people you ask to help, you can know something is a trap and say nothing as long as you're not the one inviting them to step into it.
The Hatchery members who got used were in the dark and those that knew were not responsible for springing the trap. If anything SPAM let us out lightly because of the Karah connection.
Ultimately we gave out some intel that made us predictable, people wanting to use it read that and we got played. Welcome to eve, nicely done. I'll still be working with them.

No 9pools saying anything here knew anything about the trap and yet one of them even guessed it was and told gunpoint.

Me and two long time gaming friends decided to go and fly around low/null for a fun roam, and see what we could make happen.
We started in oddel and as we make our way a few jumps towards b-vip and that area we notice a few gunpoint pals following close on our tail. So I make the call for me and my friends to turn around as a get on hatchery comms to tell them to UNDOCK EVERYTHING and get ready as we where planning the bait them back into oddel where they have no eyes.
Fast forward a few as me and my two friends sit at 0 on the odd gate in bosena with backup on the other side and kwark running around trying to do something tactical. I think. Not quite sure in hindsight. A Navy slicer who also belonged to gunpoint attacks me so I jump through where we have a cane there and a cane and rifter on standby, only to have a pilgrim decloak 10 km from us and start attacking us, us being a cane and 2 rifters. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9642769 They also bring in a thrasher which we can only assume was meant to kill the rifters so the pilgrim could get away or something. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9642770 My poor friends where stuck on the other side of the gate for all of this watching the gate and local for us.
Fast forward again an hour or so as we parted ways from the hatchery and me and my friends are roaming lowsec in earnest now, but its 2 am so no one is on. We decide that nullsec sounds like fun at this point so we make our way to b-vip and a few jumps in we are very bored and decide to kill so gate rats because why not? The horrible Gist Commanders fall to the 3 valiant rifter pilots and we move on. In the next system we find a Natural Phenomena landmark and warp to it in the hopes that we can assist the world of the cleansing of the evil Angel pirates. We notice one other in local but really pay little attention to him until we notice a hound appear on the overview and disappear. We dismiss it as we figure he is either scouting, in which case, we are rifters, we can get out, or he just left.
He then uncloaks again at 100k and begins burning in. Yes, in. 3 rifters Vs 1 Angel BC rat Vs 1 Stealth Bomber. I do my best to close the distance in my solofit AB rifter, my friends with lacing nav skills lagging behind, but it was quite apparent that he had a MWD, and as such could just kite me forever, but I continue my burn when suddenly I notice that we are getting closer. 40km. 30km. 20km. 10km.
Point. Web. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9642896
My friends where not fast enough to get on the KM unfortunately.
All and all not a bad night for it being 2am east coast time on a Tuesday morning.

"I'm in a violent death spiral towards being broke and having tons of semi-useless assets, give me money so I can make it worse." How is ammo semi useless? Worst case scenario I can sell it all to buy orders for 95% of what I paid for it and get all the isk back. I put sufficient of my own isk into the operation that doing so would allow me to fully honour my commitments.

Well, a "liquidity trap" would imply to me that you would lose sufficient money selling everything that you're actually trapped in a non-liquid asset state.
|
In its original conception, a liquidity trap results when demand for money becomes perfectly elastic (i.e. where the demand curve for money is horizontal) so that further injections of money into the economy will not serve to further lower interest rates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquidity_trap

Ah, I just didn't know that was a real term. I just don't have the liquidity to convert LP to make more liquidity and the assets I'm unlocking become isk at a fairly even isk/hr, regardless of how much stock I have.

Well, in that case, if none of us are using it right, then I still like my incorrect definition best.

Maybe you should slow down your supply a bit, and see if demand hikes? Or is that why you were asking people to float you a bit?

I am, the problem is I'm struggling to refuse the insane prices I'm getting on rens buy orders and corpmates still depend on me to get their isk. What I intend to use any liquidity I can raise now for is to hold onto until my seb tribe LP guy comes through. I have like 5b+ in tags so I can buy 5b+ of LP in one go but I keep buying tags with my buying LP isk.

Well, short term I could float you maybe 200m, but I'm guessing that's small enough change to you that it'd do better to keep the offer as a hole card for emergencies.

Are EVE economics like WoW economics? Basically the market is flooded with retards that ruin all semblance of a stable environment where it's really hard to make money in certain areas because you're undercut to hell whenever you set up a sell order, and the price tanks for no reason; and you can never buyout the market and set up a higher price because everyone remembers the cheap price and sells it at the old rate because they don't understand how much massive profit they could make.
Or does the nature of the EVE universe, with region markets spread out over the entire star cluster, eliminate or at least dampen that effect to where it's just a matter of location?
I should actually learn how to do this shit.

Eve, with the single server, and the entire economy requiring player interaction, is much more stable. A high sale or a low sale don't really affect the average sales, especially since to really play the economy succesfully, you need to invest a decent amount of time in skills, which most of the people not wanting to play it well won't do.
