MWD is a giant sig penalty, so vs gun tracking, active non-overheat MWD is effectively equivalent to no MWD. Not sure how it works with drones. Are you working with MSE or armor/scram/web type fits?
Armor fits are pretty much out of the question for fleet work. We use MSE and nanos with scram and MWD.
Whether the MWD is a penalty or not doesn't matter. I'm using acceleration and speed to fuck up the drone AI by making them overshoot and/or staying out of their effective fighting range. While I'm doing this I am at >90% shields the whole time because they just plain can't hit me. Meanwhile the target that I'm semi-orbiting is completely unable to hit me.
Since I'm burning around a rough ellipse, it's also quite difficult for other targets on the field to hit me unless they are very luckily in the "small" plane of my ellipse. The problem with doing this is that at my current skills I'm not cap-stable - but 2m30s is a lot longer than I would normally last with several flights of Warrior II's on me and just trying to shoot them down.

I'm literally an inch away from joining you guys. Your exploits sound so interesting. Maybe right after finals I'll hop on.

You use Nano with Scrams?
I'm sorry but that makes no sense at all.

Well no but nothing you said really suggests that armor fits can't work. I assumed you were talking about a bigger ship because armor fits on a frigate aren't really a huge difference from shield setups honestly.
I suppose that's my bad.

The difference in speed and acceleration is big enough that it makes the difference between getting suicide points on expensive things and having those things get away

So I hear someone's calling me firebird now

So, if anyone's seen the Eve Server status rainmeter skin floating around, I took that, and modded it to also list Character name and wallet.
I'm looking for a functional way to make a skin that does a lot more, like active ship and skill training queue, but I think I'm SOL until they open up public profiles on Evegate.
If anyone wants the skin, let me know.

I would like to look at it for sure.

Instructions: Sign into Eve Insider on the main eve page. Select the Character you want to monitor. Click on the table the link that says "XML Data". Open the skins .ini file. Find [MeasureCName] under heading [Measures] Near the top. Copy/Paste the URL into the line " URL="" "in between the quotes. Save the edited .ini file, and load the skin.
Sorry for manual edit, but I just started learning this yesterday. Full credits for the skin are listed, I just added the character and wallet data parts.
Once CCP turns off the temporary privacy on Public Eve Gates, I should be able to refine this to use that instead, and get all the cool data, like active ship, skill queue, and whatnot.

Here ya go.
Just realized the instructions blatantly assume you know how to make a .ini skin. If anyone doesn't get how to turn that pile of raw text into a functioning skin, I'll add that to instructions.
Moreso, I just realized I screwed up. I gave you way less than you need. Link to original skin DL.
Contains the resources the guy had set up that way, and will actually turn into a skin. Still have to edit the .ini with my stuff, but that should be enough to make it work.

stop spreading it around dude, youre ruining our chances.

Meh, I kept it to the Eve board, instead of really putting it out there. Not like one in millions is a great chance anyway. I'm not even sure what I'd do with my current PC if I won that one... guess give it to my wife, she needs an upgrade... then we could give her C2D machine to our son for his second birthday...

Me too, mines really down there. My old one died with terrible timing, about 6 months before Sandy Bridge came out, so I had to build X58 for top end. I really want P67, but my wife would slap me if I even mentioned buying new parts, especially since she's running core2. (Her choice, she didn't feel like she needed more PC.)
|
Well mine was about $2200 last year, so I shouldn't really be looking to upgrade. I think I'll be waiting for the bulldozer stuff from AMD.
Maybe some larger SSDs when the prices come down.
|
Jesus, what have you got in there, SLI 480s? I've got a $200 dollar case, and even including peripherals and the 32" HDTV I use for a monitor, with 1366 and SLI 460s, I'm nowhere near that price point.
