Meta AC's because I can't use t2 yet and the only benefits of t2 guns at this point are t2 ammo (barrage, which is not used in pve) and 6% damage (not really that important atm)

You dont go into structure in pve, if you do you are probably scrammed and will die unless you pray to jesus and hope overheating is enough. With that said, tachs with no tracking mods is a joke no matter what ship you are using. 4 Heatsinks is good since the Nightmare is basically a "Kill shit before I run out of cap to tank dps" ship, there is nothing in the lows that would be more efficient for doing missions than the 4th heatsink. Maybe 3 and a power diag + TE, or just 2 TE. *beep beeP* Onboard computer reports a failure in teh sarcasm detector *beep beep* edit : quote : (barrage, which is not used in pve) - Wut?

edit; phased plasma L is a 10th of the price of barrage L. There is no need for barrage when you're in a mach. If you're in a mael and you don't want to use arties, then by all means use barrage. edit2; i'm talking about pve here. obviously in pvp there are times when you need 100km falloff range

I have some pretty major exams coming May, but i'm really keen to start up EVE. Too much of a time sink, or fun game that doesn't need 24/7 play?

Falloff is half damage so at distances like 40k, barrage deals WAY more dmg then normal ammo. but sure price is higher.

if you have large autocannon spec, you should have at 4 at least.. and thats a little more than 6% dps. Barrage is a very good ammo, but is too expensive to use it imo, i've never flyed mach tbh., so my opinion comes just from mael and, WTF SCOUTS!! cuz, one, i have them ![]()

Regardless I doubt youd see much of a difference with faction ammo since you probly won't reduce shots to kill on most npcs because their health is so low to begin with.

If you were in a vargur, then by all means use faction ammo since you only have 4 guns, but a mach with 7 and 25% increased RoF just chews through them too quickly.

No It doesn't Faction ammo is more than worth it even in a mach due to the really high multiplier that autocannons have on a mach. Sure it's more "worth it" on a vargur but the increased damage is in fact worth it as proven by hours of mathematics and self testing. If your skills are shit though (like...if you cant use tech 2 large AC) then it's not as big of a deal. PVE mach dps with faction ammo approaches insane numbers like 1250 or some stupid shit. Vargur only gets like 1050 ![]() IN the end though, you lost your mach to 10 frigs, you should never be able to speak again ![]()
