If this isn't a troll. I'd just like to quickly apologise for all the shit I gave you for losing a vaga attacking a hulk in hisec(thinking it was losec) and then losing another one to an aoe doomsday.

EDIT: Shoutout to Vil, Yul, and Gordy too...

And no this is not a troll, with the way things in my life have been going and plus some terrible eve playing on my part, I decided it's time to call it quits.

I'll be lurking TL or on xfire if any of you have it!

4 days into my trial now and still enjoying the game immensely. I finished all my tutorial missions and now I was just taking up random missions in Hilaban. Man the first one was hard as hell and took me like 3 hours to clear those pirates. This game is so deep, my only problem is my friends say that I haven't spoken a word since I started playing, I just stare deeply at the screen reading lol.

Went out on a pretty small roam with rapier + cane as the only decent ships on it. Lost my rapier after attacking to bait jags when their fleet jumped in on us. Reimbursed from corp funds (so many carebears) and 30 minutes later we had a new fleet with a pest, rapier, 3 canes, rupture, scimmy, 3 rifters and punisher up. We headed down into nullsec and fucked around with a massive fleet. Overall we netted an eagle, cane, harb and a rifter and lost the rapier, two canes and a punisher. Fairly even, would have been way up if I hadn't taken that big rapier loss.

Epic corp chat. We discovered some pedophiles some guys with terrible tastes and the reason Caelum is sleeping in the doghouse since new years. Then Luce started the irl picture links were we discovered that Kwark is a cutie, Luce needs to learn how to play an instrument or cut his hair, I am the sexiest EVE player (and probably TL user) around but more importantly that Karah is a fucking Tiger IRL with pictures to prove it.

We have a tiger in the corp. A TIGER! Beat that PL.

I will beat your Tiger, JP. This is a post from the PL vs. The North thread on Kugu. It is ever so delicious. I'll highlight my favorite parts.

Speaking as Rage grunt, I actually agree that it's better to just blob PL. I know its sounds awful, but PL are just so much better than us that we gain nothing through losing except embarrassment. I'm all for losing when we actually gain valuable experience and come back better next time. Against PL this just doesn't happen.

It reminds me of about six months ago when lots more groups roamed our space. We would get tooled by everyone except the Solar pets at the time, and even against them was even chance most times. Guys like darkside would just fucking massacre us, and we would lose participation in HDs across the board because of it. However, we started picking our fights more wisely and gained valuable experience and confidence, win or lose, against enemies of ever-increasing quality. By the end we could at least challenge a darkside gang to a reasonable fight with similar numbers and ship quality.

PL are just too fucking good, consistently. You are victims of your own success and image. I would love to be able to even lose with dignity against a reasonably matched PL fleet. As it is we can't beat you <4:1. So fuck it, why bother? Plenty of groups out there whom we can reasonably match or at least lose to in a way where we gain something.

Sad as it is, I think that's the reality for a lot of us.

Had a frig tournament, won it with a condor, ain't no thing. Spent around 170m on the fit including implants so took a pretty big hit there. Then orandos found two random guys killing people on a gate in a harb + cane so he called me in in my drake. The harb GCCed himself on a rifter then warped off but his friend the cane was neutral so I attacked the cane and killed it 1v1 under gate gun fire. Tore him down pretty easily, finishing him off right as the harb arrived back. Harb was still GCCed so we had a 1v1 with both getting shot up (although I had now taken over a minute of sustained gate aggro and all the damage the cane had) but I won that too with Caelum's help in his rifter. I went to dock up and repair as the cane pilot came back in a drake. Caelum and Orandos pointed him in rifters while I immediately undocked and came back to kill yet another battlecruiser under gate gun fire. The drake took orandos down before I got there but Caelum killed all his drones and I tore him down very easily. They finally got the rest of their backup, two cynabals, two lachesis and a curse. I was still taking gate gun fire after having killed three battlecruisers under it and was unable to get away, going down pretty fast. I had all the loot from the kills so it sucked but whatever, we 1>3 is decent enough.

They were all over the place, one of their canes was trying to kill me in the rapier and I was just holding him at 22k while the other guys were on Caelum. However our focussed fire and lack of purger rigs left them a cane down while Caelum was still on half shield. We'd spread our points and with a nanocane and stasis on their second cane Caelum was able to get out as his shield broke, just before their second cane went down. There was nothing the drake could do, he tried to kill me because the rapier was the most expensive and fragile thing we had but I could just align out, stasis him and disengage myself while Orandos cleaned it up. Very easy victory over a pretty comparable fleet. We just flew better, abused range and stasis and had decent fits. Wasn't much they could do.

We continued to roam and I scanned down a harb beltratting and held it for the fleet. Another easy kill, 4 bcs for 0 losses. We continued towards out exit and found a gatecamp with a hictor in the last system. A muninn, a falcon (cloaked, we didn't know about this yet), a rff, dramiel, devoter, deimos and a drake were there I think. We could just go through it and rapier disengage but after weighing it up we decided it was time to put our nano to the test. We triggered the trap, burned off and disengaged the tackle with the rapier. They launched a billion ecm drones and the falcon got in. With the rapier jammed we couldn't really isolate ships to gun them down and it was pretty much a standoff with VoV killing ecm drones for kicks while both sides did no real damage. I decided to call a disengage, set our align point to our outgate to lowsec and told people to pull drones and deaggress. Everyone was aligned and I said warp at the precise moment an overheated 30k point hit orandos' drake.

This was awful timing. If I'd said it a second earlier we'd all be out, a second later and we'd have seen and I could have stasised the devoter and allowed orandos to burn out. Instead we were trapped in a 30 AU warp while the rest of them seized the chance and ran him down. I took the rapier back to see what I could do but he was scrammed by then. Not really much blame to be had for it. The rapier should be the last man on the field but I had called an align, everyone was aligned and nobody was pointed so when I say warp it wasn't unreasonable to immediately warp myself. Equally orandos was on his first nano roam and you can easily be taken by surprise by how quickly an overheated mwd and overheated point can come out of nowhere. Obviously it's on him to notice it earlier and either overheat himself or tell me but it was incredibly unlucky that the point hit the second I said warp (for those who don't know an aligned ship warps instantly, the only delay was the reaction time between me saying warp and him hitting the button). I was more than happy to reimburse the loss and call it a win at 4 kills to 1 loss.

On another note this was a superbly run op. Comms were tight as hell and we got shit done incredibly effectively and with as little panic as possible. Even when we were baiting that trap everything seemed completely under control, and it was.

I'm learning a lot on these ops and am finally going to give in to Kwark's pressure and start FCing some stuff soon. Going to start small with some frig roams I think, try to see if I can at least not get everyone killed, and get some corp members trained on how scouting works (scouting on ops the past few weeks has been a complete disaster unless handled by a select few people).

I've been tagging along on every op I can trying to learn how this shit works, and thanks to kwark and caelum for showing me how it all works, I'm finally starting to feel a little more comfortable instead of the normal "OMFG THERES A RED ON GRID OMGOMGOMG".

Pretty cool.

Losing money is less good than making it, confirm?

Going to start small with some frig roams I think, try to see if I can at least not get everyone killed

that goes against the tradition of Hatchery FCs

Okay then. I expect everyone in corp to have at least 1 racial battleship skill trained to 4 by this time next week. We're going for more treasure.

Reimbursement will be covered by Caelum
Losing money is less good than making it, confirm?
