It’s made the game boring. A low value job. It’s too easy to be fun. So I think the next step is obvious. Roleplay. We’ve got stuck in Saranen with whatever we have to hand, our skills at diplomacy, and each other. We can buy skill books and bpos only. We must cooperate to sustain ourselves and move up the tech tree. If we lose our machariel that’s a serious, almost irreplaceable loss. We might have to go run sites in Angel space to look for another bpc, for example. But when we find one it’ll be a game changer, it’ll unlock new fleet options. When we design fleets it’ll be around working within our constraints. Tier 1 hulls are much cheaper in terms of our labour etc. When we chose what our goals are it won’t simply be “how does the isk/hr doing this compare to other things”, it’ll be “what does this unlock for the corp”. Salvage becomes a lot better when you’re currently flying unrigged ships for example. It’s a high value activity, it’s just the broader macroeconomic situation has created a surplus of supply. If we see a valuable ship that we need in a site then the goal is no longer to kill him for piracy’s sake but rather to get him to eject. We may hold him in position while we bring up the smart bombing BS alt and let him know in local that if he doesn’t eject soon he’ll lose implants too. The suboptimal plays that you make to meet the artificially imposed constraints are what makes the game a game. Working within them and problem solving. I will be attempting this and I encourage you to join me. No more Jita. From each according to their means to all for our collective needs. | ||

We had a WH in system and some stranded caps 1j away in Isto to bring north. So in the middle of this huge fight Calanthe lights a cyno with a goonswarm rapier and a carrier plus a dread jump into into system. They promptly align to the middle of nowhere, warp off into open space, and disappear from the system. No further caps jump in and the goon cyno rapier also departs. It amuses me to imagine both sides reacting to this, given the already committed capitals. | ||

And then when he looked in the site he saw a tengu wreck on grid so clearly there had been fighting in this gas site already. We checked zkill for the system and found this: https://zkillboard.com/kill/114945430/ The dead tengu was in the same group as the covetors. To us that implied that the mysterious disappearing tengu might be the same guy reshipped and guarding them. I wanted to go in battle venture guns blazing but VoV argued the need for caution and an assumption that the covetors were protected by a tengu. He made me wait for his curse. Battle venture warped in and landed on the covetors to enable us to scram one if they tried to leave after local spiked. We initiated warp in the lach and then initiated with the venture. Tengu instantly decloaks and goes for the venture. Lach lands and points the tengu but the lach has no guns and the blasters on the venture are no match for the tengu's native resists. Fortunately the curse arrives and starts neuting it out. The second covetor has warped off by this point though and grabs a loki to take to the field. I grab a nearby PvE retribution character from a mission and pull it into the action. Neuted out tengu is primary, curse is holding point on the loki while the tengu is scrammed by the lach. At this point the field is tengu loki covetor vs lach curse venture retribution. With the tengu neuted out the EM damage of the ab retribution racks up its first kill and takes it down. The battle venture takes down the covetor a few seconds later. We're thinking we've won as we switch our attention to the loki but they reship in a nighthawk and cerberus respectively and now the fight is serious. The battle venture flees leaving a retribution lach curse vs a loki nighthawk cerberus. However the loki is neuted out and missile disrupted by the curse while the kinetic damage of the nighthawk and cerb seem to do little to a full passive tank lach with heated invuln. A friendly from RBC passes through local and I msg him and throw him a fleet invite telling him to warp onto grid in whatever he has. Unfortunately it turns out he's in an arazu and so our gang is 3 recons with no guns and a PvE retribution. However as the retribution brings down the loki and the battle turns the nighthawk attempts to MJD out only to be caught by the arazu with ee han timing. Turns out it was exactly what we needed. Who knew. The cowardly nighthawk had abandoned the cerb to his death at the hands of the retribution and went down shortly after. That left just a nighthawk on grid. We ground it down with our drone damage until the retribution got there to bring the scorch pain. And right as it was about to die who would return but the bold battle venture, bringing it all back to where it all started. That turned out to be the perfect ship for the cause as the quick lock speed enabled it to snag and kill the nighthawk pod. Turns out the tengu/nighthawk was rocking a full set of HG nirvanas. Who knew. Tengu Covetor Loki Cerberus Nighthawk Pod 7b kills. No losses. Naturally they complained in local of us blobbing them. After all what could they have done with a loki tengu cerberus on grid vs a lach curse retribution. They really had no chance. It didn't really make sense, if I have the power to take the pocos from them at will because they don't care enough to defend then I feel like maybe I have just a little bit of power. Alas he was not receptive to this and just issued ultimatums coupled with insistences that he didn't care whether or not I accepted the ultimatum. There was only one rational option left. YTD Snuff have lost 39 pocos. Of those 39 30 are to me and my friends in Slow Children who joined my crusade. Of those 30 29 are in the last 2 weeks, 7 today alone. As of right now I have retaken: 5 of 8 in Tartoken with the remaining 3 reinforced. 4 of 8 in Karja with the remaining 4 reinforced. 7 of 10 in Nann with 1 more reinforced. I previously had shown zero interest in these but I have also taken: 3 of 10 in Anin with 6 more reinforced. 2 of 9 in Tamo with 2 more reinforced. As of the time of writing I have about the same number of pocos as I did at the time of my surrender and 4b payout. By the end of this weekend I would expect for them to have about a dozen fewer pocos than they had when they decided to fuck around 7 days ago. | ||
