For me for example: I have 4/3 learnings. I used my most of my 2x bonus in order to learn my learnings to 4:3 Once the 14th hits, i get a HUGE injection of SP at a better rate, sling shotting me faster towards a cane. I know for me, it's only like 600,000SP, but still... I have a 66day training plan to get into a nanocane for example. The stat boost cuts 7.5days from that, and then the injection of SP cuts a further ~15 days. This means that I will cut ~22.5 days from a 66day training plan thanks to this boost, almost giving me a month worth of SP for a 6 day investment (22.5days cut, spent 6 days training learnings). Best thing a new char could do right now is: use 100% of 2x training boost to train learnings to as a high as possible, then just learn normal skills. The SP you invest is worth A LOT less than when you will get back later (you put in the same amount of SP, but you get higher stats come the patch meaning the SP you get to reinvest is worth more than what you put in initially, where the 2x training boost makes learning skills SP worth less time and thus the conversion worth more) Basically... the SP I put into my learnings 600,000, took 6 days to train but will be worth ~15 days of training come the stat boost. I wish i would still have my learning bonuses, I would of learned learnings all through it if i would of known this for a HUGE SP boost... not worth it now to put in more learnings without double SP boost though, saddly. | ||

Wanted to post here, but seems like news like this travels ridiculously fast :p Anyway, I guess over the coming days there will be tons and tons of whineposts from bitter vets, but tbh, in the end I personally don't have any problems with it. I can finally finish up some charisma skills since I have 5/5 (still have to look at what i'll take). And it's just an overall improvement for the game, and just a massive improvement for the actual new players (who 98% of the time if they didn't have an older eve player tell them about it, or let them do "tricks" such as making 2 trial accounts ended up giming themselves severely in the sp/h in their first year) Or even that they don't have to sink 20mil into the advanced books. Oh how I love CCP sometimes, and this is definatly a better (well for me it is, since i have maxed learnings, and a indy alt who just finished up 5/4) christmas gift then some random ship that you don't care about anymore after a week :p | ||

So we'd killed some retarded carebear drake pilot four times in under 24 hours in the same failfit drake (only 6 launchers, passive+active hards). He was the stereotype of terrible eve player and just kept warping into the same trap over and over. He ran away so I left an alt of mine just sitting next to him for hours on end while I played on the other account until eventually he was no longer in their corp. Later when I was discussing the war with one of their members, Agerol, who is pretty high up he said (if I recall correctly) "How did you kill that guy 4 times in one day? We had to kick him from corp, he was a fucking embarrassment". I'm not in the mood atm to do all the calculations if it would actually give a benefit, and I also don't completely understand yet how they are gonna handle remaps, and how they are gonna add on the extra attributes for players who don't have maxed learning skills, but they have used a remap to remap to something else. But keep the first in mind, because if it does give a benefit, the price for the sell orders from actual people will probably go up very hard untill the 14th (where all the books are removed) | ||

It would be best to use your 2x boost on learnings and then get it turned into SP on the 14th. After the 2x boost, there is not benefit to putting SP into learning skills. To better illustrate: - 4/3 learnings take 6 days - 4/3 learnings = 12 days of training without 2x boost - 4/3 learnings converted into SP = 15.6days of training (around) with 5/5 (what CCP is offereing) this means you get 9.6 days of training for free from 4/3s... an overall boost of 3.6days if you did not use your 2x to boost your learning skills. You can get higher if you use 100% of your 2x boost on learnings, and as such will be able to get a larger return on your SP come the 14th. As such, I expect the price for books to sky rocket in the coming days. | ||

For me I get the benefit of slightly higher sp/hr and all my invested points back so I'm up all the profit I've made from having learnings without losing a thing. For a player with weaker learnings they're getting a much larger sp/hr increase cause they're being bumped up to the same rate I'm on but they've not gotten the benefit I've gotten over the years and it didn't cost me anything (cause we both get fully refunded). So they see a much greater improvement in sp/hr but long term they missed an opportunity. For the new player they can exploit this by doing the following skill training. Remap to max memory/int. Train IR1, AM1, learning 1, IR 2, AM2, L2, IR3, AM3, L3, IR4, EM1, EM2, EM3, AM4, logic 1, logic 2, logic 3, learning 4, IR5, AM5, L5, EM5 and then getting all the other basic learnings up to 5. What this will do is spend all their skill points into getting skills that accelerate the rate at which they get new skill points by getting skills that both require mem/int and increase it. Then when the change happens you can convert all these accelerated points into useful points at a rate of 1:1. | ||
