I did som *investigation* on Ships and i stumbled uppon this. For doing lvl 2 Missions (NO pvp in this) in an Amarr Cruiser, what would you pick? There are, as i see it, 2 real choices, the Omen and the Maller. Omen: Capacitor 730 CPU 250 Low 5 Med 3 High 5 (4 Turret, 1 Rocket) +20% firerate Dronebay, Launcher Bay, bigger Cargo Maller: Cap: 500 CPU: 280 Low 6 Med 3 High 6 (5 Turret, 1 *Stuff") +20% Armor I tend to see the omen as superior? The only drawbacks are lower Armor and 1 less low slot (-1 Heatsink) but for that i get 20% firerate, Drones a Rocketlauncher and way more Cargo? Last i checked the Maller was also more expensive on the Marked so if i actually sell the Maller i could get a total Win/Win out of it? Or am i missing something? | ||

If you can tank with the omen, then mission in that, however if you are having trouble holding your tank with the omen, switch to the maller. | ||

ran into just a few gatecamps on the main pipes, but delve was mostly empty, which was kinda disappointing =/ it was fun watching the goons safe up when a shuttle enters the system though :D | ||

If you are acting as bait, then yes, you'll want to have a better tank than dps to give your fleet more time to re-enforce. In fleet battles however, your cruiser tank wont mean very much if you get primaried (chances are thats not going to happen though). In cruiser gangs, your strength is in your speed and dps, not your tank. Your primary targets are lone bigger/tougher ships than you and you're utilising your numbers as an advantage. You want to fly in fast and knock out a bigger opponent rather than try to last lengthy drawn out combat where he calls in his bigger/tougher friends to help. In this situation, DPS is favoured. | ||

Edit: If you plan on joining hit up guys like vil, me or motbob here via pm with your emailadress for a 21 day trial. It gets the person extra playtime if you finally sign up for real. That's kind of a way to give the help back we have going for you new guys. | ||

Actually you should look up some Arbitrator fits, theoretically you can even run lvl3s in that decently... never really tried it, but I kinda wish i had. You'll totally need good-ish drone skills for that though. | ||

Battlecruisers are the ships you want to use to do level 3's. Or HACs, but by that point missions should be stupidly easy anyway. | ||

6 Mio Isk to sit in a Harbi to get the Isk rolling in PvE and using Cruisers in OP's . Still don't know which one but to figure that out shouldn't be a problem (hard point vs dps)... | ||
