TL's EVE community isn't really interested in nullsec alliance level warfare (the "blob"), and most members vehemently oppose it.
If that's what you really have your heart set on the best advice would be to check the EVE-O recruitment forums and see if any of the nullsec alliances are recruiting. If you're active on reddit try applying to Dreddit. Brave Newbies are currently engaged in nullsec alliance level warfare.
For smaller scale, lowsec warfare try faction warfare: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/games/88359-eve-corporation?page=1773#35445
The downside is there won't be huge 1000 vs. 1000 player fights happening, but the upside is there won't 1000 vs. 1000 player fights happening.

Large scale fleet warfare as one of the proles not running the alliance goes like this...
"Align to X. Warp to Y at Z. (Optional: Orbit center at 5k.) Primary target person in ship. Secondary target other person in ship." repeat that last part 50k times. Your job is to do EXACTLY as told, lock the targets you are told, and fire your weapons at them as told.
The reason they need 1000+ people in a fleet is because of those people, roughly a quarter will fuck up, and another quarter are busy not firing on the primary so they can whore killmails.
And don't even get me started on what a pain in the ass it is for people to understand the words "jump" and "hold on gate".
(Source: I've been a peon in large scale fights with shit alliances. Yes this includes Goonswarm. Also Razor. Also fighting both Goonswarm and Razor. There's a reason why all large coalitions are exactly that - large. Very very large.)

Nice entry points for PVP: - Eveuni: Low sec campus ( I went there) - Bravenewbies: they have many kinds of fleets everyday. - Red versus Blue: You will be in a permanent war so you will never be short on pvp oportunities
After that you can decide joining a low sec pirate corp, null sec alliance or wormholers.

Just fyi, the advertised full on alliance warfare is just about as boring as mining
It's probably worse, no tidi when mining.

Always wanted to try this game, but I'm too far to the concept of MMO. (Pre-ordered GW2 thinking that I will finally play an MMO, and nope, not even 10 hours of gameplay on record) I seriously have zero experience at that area. Never heard something bad about this game, it just looks like everything I wanted. Maybe I'll download it again, I don't know.

What sets this apart is you don't need to grind for skills, only isk. This makes it a totally different experience from other MMO's. It is important to get/make some friends though.

Hello everyone!
In the upcoming Summer release we are making a lot of changes that we expect will impact player behavior surrounding manufacturing, mining and starbase use. We see an opportunity here to make some adjustments to the way that Jump Drives consume their isotope fuel that will hit a few birds with one stone.
The goals of this change are:
Stimulate the isotope (and therefore ice) market to help cushion any drop in demand from players using smaller starbases after the science and industry slot changes. Help encourage cost competitiveness for local resource gathering in nullsec. Although we don't expect this change to significantly impact behavior around jump drive power projection, it should at least provide a small incentive change through higher costs for moving huge capital fleets often.
The plan for this release is to start with a 50% increase in the fuel cost of all jump drives and jump portals, and adjust further if necessary once we see the results. This change applies both the the base consumption of ship based jump drives, as well as the isotope consumption per kg of mass on all jump bridges and portals.
To compensate for the extra isotopes that ships will need to carry, the volume of all four isotopes will be reduced by 1/3, to 0.1m3. Thanks to Resgo for some excellent feedback.
The storage volume of jump bridge starbase structures will be increased by 50% since Ozone volume won't be changing.
For reference, this will increase the cost of running a max skilled Rhea from Jita to RIT-A7 (jump drive transit the whole way) from ~50m isk to ~75m isk.
|
That change is basically shit for everyone who owns a JF and uses that heavily (or who cant be arsed to fly a blockade runner 15 jumps, like me). It won't have a huge impact for everyone else.
I hope some interesting changes and new content get announced at fanfest because what has been announced so far is not really anything interesting.
Can't be bothered looking up the post, but CaldariPrimePonyClub posted on reddit that t2/faction capital turrets are present in the game files.

Well, still waiting to see what the Fozzie devblog will be about :3

You mean the one on FHC that malcanis posted about?

Just occurred to me, Blackfrog will take a big hit from this.
Edit: Would be nice to have a gander at their customer metrics, which wealth percentile makes up which percentage of their income.

So will the Indy changes actually make Providence valuable? That many stations that close to high sec, I'm seeing people saying that its going to suddenly be high priority space and that one of the major powers will try to evict the current denizens for it. I don't know enough to form a decent opinion, so I'm hoping one of you guys will come up with a good one for me.

Isn't provi shit grade in terms of truesec though?
JF's can move tens of billions of nullsec loot at once; adding 50m to the cost isn't exactly a major increase, compared to the time it takes to put together a large JF shipment in the first place.

It is, but also the area has a high percentage of systems with stations. This means low costs for manufacturing in those stations because people can spread out more. I don't claim to have all the answers, but it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
|
I was under the impression that nullsec manufacturing in stations was useless, since you could just use highsec stations that can do just as much with no hassle.
|
Its mostly done in regards to capitals (which can be done in low sec, but that appears to be getting nerfed) and supercaps (null sec only).

Anyone here have some advice on how to get -8.0 Minm standings up, to be able to grind Minm FW mission?
Ways I'm thinking about in which it could be done: - join a minm corp. Get standings up to -2.0 with plexing, then leech TribalLiberation to get lvl4 missions. - maybe create a corp with some random toon, join Minm FW. invite FW mission alt. Make something happen? - Grind it the slow way? No idea on how to do this the fastest, never tried before.
As far as I'm aware but could be wrong, you can't leech Minm faction standings off another mission runner, only the TLF standings are shared.

Okay time to grind the tutorial, or at least the pew pewing part.
