while geb is a moron of the highest order and is delusional in how much of anything works, there's fundamentally nothing wrong with this style of hierarchy assuming he has all CEOs under his thumb. Most alliances and coalitions suffer for trying reconcile differences in cultures by absorbing whole corps and alliance and keeping them intact. In a corporate world by spreading the groups then you can isolate and remove upstart prim donnas without alienating large segments, as well as creating personalized and tight knit groups than reduce turnover from getting lost in the sea of bodies. Its hard for anyway to leverage themselves against glorious leader if excising the culprit only potentially loses you a handful of people under him.

but its also geb so I doubt he does it right anyways.

jester trek commentary on NEO is hilarious. somehow every comp that wins is amazing, every ship that dies is due to bad piloting, every comp decision that loses was shit

it really is like watching silver/gold scrub comment on professional level games (eve's technical requirements aren't nearly that high of course, taking it more percentile wise).

I just hope his view on tourney play isn't reflective of the eve population's - that the teams that do well do so because of metagaming or lucking into being hydra practice partners, instead of the more simple explanation of being composed of good pilots (especially the latter argument, talk about confusing cause v effect there).

I think we'll all agree that the technicals or mechanics of eve are certainly less that starcraft. However eve pvp especially at tournies is exceedingly more abstract especially to a viewer. A viewer can be told whats going on by an announcer explaining build order and what the plan appears to be, by the time an announcer knows whats going on in eve (or can even really guess) the match has already been decided.

Explaining fits can be even more difficult compared to normal pvp, iirc even when tl was in the alliance tournament flying basically the same style they always did kiting, the fits were vastly different than what was normally seen picking fights in ec- being able to pick apart fits properly is pretty rare in this game especially for matches that arent conventional. If I had to guess theres probably less than 100 people in the entire game who even know whats was going on in just about any pilot heavy pvp, everyone else was just looking at the shiny lights and faking it.

At most people will get basics like oh they had to stay at range, and they had to close because of weapon ranges but the how of doing that from fit changes will generally be loss on them, I mean look at the kill mails in normal eve.

We got baited by a neutral typhoon fleet, and hot dropped by shadow cartel. However, our FC was about to call it a night and we were in contact with another amarr gang, to merge the remainder of our fleet with. When the cyno got lit the friendly fleet was in the next system. Since both our fleets were calling different primaries, as well our FC having told everyone to fit damps on any open mids when we formed up, coupled with a few neuting arbitrators and some ecm. The guardians were not effective. I was trying to catch pods for executions in my thrasher, but kept missing them. Their sentry drones were hitting me hard, I warped out to the sun in structure. where I found a lonely snake pod sitting. So I gave him a ride home.
