So apparently some clever people were able to grab data from test server and found out about the ice changes several days before the rest of eve. One of the goons discussing it is on the CSM. They made trillions on ice before the rest of eve started speculating and the price inflated massively.
CCP's stance on grabbing data like this is that it is a violation of the EULA, they were made aware of the situation but have taken no action.
"I have Jabber logs of several players, including your new CSM representative downloading and using the Chaos server files before fanfest for ISK gain and Market manipulation.
Does that come under PLEX for Snitches? :D"
"We are unable to act on evidence supplied by third parties in all cases when it comes to enforcing of the EULA. Coupled with the fact that we historically have not enforced this nor are able to do so in general, this would not fall under PLEX for snitches at this time I’m afraid.
Best regards, Charlie"

i didn't realize there were any goons getting the chaos, also didn't realize that it was against eula to do so. personally i (and i suspect most others) found out about it from the eve-ru post, which had been out for a long time.

I think it's the data sniffing that's not allowed. Using 3rd party software to scrape data.

oh yeah makes sense. i don't think any mmo company goes after those people though, otherwise mmo-champion never would have made it as far as they did, plus that one guy who always posts patch changes on pastebin for eve.

by scraping data you mean... using diff? :-3 I think you were able to connect to chaos with a simple switch in the eve shortcut not long ago.. So it wasn't exactly off limits to anyone. Anyhow, I dont know if people didn't know this was happening for a long time, this kind of stuff has been posted on eve forums as well with no punishment/interest from ccp. Also speculating on chaos data is kinda risky

As a member of a corporation you can now quit a corporation instantly without waiting the 24 hours after dropping roles. This applies to both DUST and EVE players. When we released DUST leaving a corporation worked the same as in EVE, drop roles, wait 24 hours, leave corporation. When we started getting feedback from the community about how bad this was and we looked into it what we could do abou it, we realized that this was initially done way back in the day for technical reasons. Upon more research we realized those technical restrictions no longer applied. So we removed this requirement from DUST... and EVE. Because why not.
The other restrictions, such as being docked, do still however apply when attempting to quit a corporation.
Kicking someone still requires removing their roles and waiting 24 hours, and you must still be docked in a station to quit a corporation.
This corporation change also shipped on May 6th. yay

Hey guys! I'm looking forward to start playing EVE but I have some concerns about how time consuming the game is. How many hours do I need to spend a day to become a successful pilot? Should I share an account with a friend? How big TL corporation is?
Thanks
Andrii

TL corp is basically dead and we all play with different people. Account sharing is not allowed by CCP's EULA and ToS. You can spend as much time as you want playing per day. You aren't guaranteed fights when you go roaming so there's not really a set amount of hours to become successful.

1) TL corp doesn't exist, in terms that you are expecting. Most of us hand in a couple channels or on vent, but have no loyality to any one organization. Better off joining RvB if you want to actually be active and engaged.
2) EvE takes 0 time commitment to be a good pilot. You are either competent or not. It's not a slider bar or a score of skill. You are or you aren't- pass or fail.
3) Sharing an account is a bad idea. Better getting one each and working together to do whatever it is in EvE that appeals to you. It's a sandbox game, there is no purpose but the one you make.
