Nothing really, and to be honest depending on which of the corps he qualified for he potentially saved himself a bunch of time. What hes going to miss out on is the opportunity to have a mentor, who would be assigned to him to help him through the game. Assuming he got a good mentor, he'd get some spending money for skill books and a sum to use towards the first plex. There would still typically be a discrepancy between what he was given and the cost of that plex which he would need to grind out.

Remember that CCP is in turn giving the inviting party a free plex in return, thus it washes out. CCP is taking a hit on the first month in attempt to garner more players than they normally would.

The issue is that people find this thread after they buy the game.If they found the thread first, they probably would probably be turned off

i saw the offer on steam with only a couple of hours left, and i didnt think. if i had saw this theread i would have download the trial, and after seeing the problems it has i wouldnt have bought it

I see EM hole and EM missiles being used, it's almost like some kind of foresight 
By the way, I never really thought about it but the deimos looks like an awful ship to fit properly, but then again I'm bad.
On another note, new salvaging drones being suggested at one of the presentations at fanfest and to me it looks just like an SCV. I love CCP now

Surely the Deimos is better than the zealot, faster, more dps. Zealot always felt like a overpriced harbinger wen I've flown it with less dps. But as always I'm willing to be proved wrong

We use Drakes very often in our fleets. As for when we PvP, it is very spontaneous. We don't have scheduled ops, basically we get fleets up when we see something to fight.
