My opinion stays that most people who play this will enjoy it for a few weeks or perhaps up to a month before getting bored. It has the mechanisms for a competitive game yet it has no means of real competition with failure North American leagues and Clan Wars for enlarging your e-elongation.
i don't see scbw in the US getting massive sponsorship, you going to write that game off as no real competition too? "Zomg im gonna camp noobs all day ...ahh shit all these other guys are raping me cause i've never tried to get any better, better write the game off as boring and uncompetitive blubber blubber blubber" ( it took you a month to get bored of that? ) just because you haven't tried getting into the competition due to your own lack of effort doesn't mean its the same for everyone There's hundreds of people on NA CW ; all high skilled with constant games (albeit around 4am people fall asleep) ; i don't see this "lack of competition" - there's plenty.

Oh shit~ I used to play this game for a couple years. I might download and start playing again. Someone needs to teach you children who your daddy is o___o;;
No but seriously, this game is so fucking fun (and I was pretty good at it back then so I might be able to pick it back up easily).

oh god, I used to love this game. It's been so long that I forgot almost all of my kstyle moves though I think, ah well.

Hey guys, I got it installed on my comp, but whenever i try to open it, it just opens up internet explorer to the ijji page. Any help?

I dont get why you are trying to bash the game, all games are easy on pub level -_-
im not sure if its still there, but there was a pro level in korea a while ago...I stopped following gunz awhile back. Very high skill level + teamwork

no actually, in this context it would be ANY competition-based game that never had wide sponsor/league support. Just to clarify: this is because you're judging the competitiveness of the game based on how many sponsored teams/leagues there are for it -- which in and of itself is absolutely stupid. anyone but the most naive gamer realizes that games get sponsored not based on whether they are good games, but whether they have value for the sponsor. Obviously as a result, totally crappy games (in terms of gameplay) get sponsored: see the recent WCG games, and good games might not.

You need to log in into ijji, and from the ijji website click "Star Game" or something like that, then it will autolaunch

If the competition is as good as you say
Edit: I joined a room and suddenly my character starts spinning in rapid 360s

You guys should do a list of people playing on page 1.
|
i guess we should all decide on a server to play. Quest 1 sound good? NA CW is a bit hard and match 1 is pretty empty Quest is relatively full so it might take about a minute to log in. Otherwise We could make a teamliquid clan, sure. Need 4 people to make it so once we get 4 people confirmed wanting to play we'll set dates n time or just pm on tl
List: (TL account, followed by gunz account/level) IntoTheWow HeavOnEarth - Kerpwnt level 61 In)Spire SaveYourSavior - Appieseed level 5~ Valentine imperfect HotZhot Sorry if i missed anyone, PM'd for updation of OP
Any suggestions for Gaming time? I'm probably available anytime between 5-10 PM CET (Texas) but i'll only be able to play for about an hour otherwise i could just teach people moves while doing some hw

jeejee - cordless - 50something? i forget i'm gonna go play for 30min or so now, i'll see if i still remember how to do anything lol edit: damn updating.. big update too T_T
edit2: oh! i found this insta video i made before i quit gunz at least back when it was made they were new.. probably old now lol http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=REaD7Z7PwiY

I didn't ask you for games that were bad but got sponsored, such as the WCG games, nor did I argue that the competitiveness of a game is based on how many sponsored or league/teams there are. What I am arguing is not absolutely stupid. Games that are good/harder will have a huge community behind them, aka sc and cs. I can't find any number for GunZ players but I can be fairly certain its nowhere near any of the other competetive FPS games. This mean general and competetive player populations.
Name one game good FPS competition based game that never got wide sponsor/league support.

GunZ ! :D
Mainstream music isn't the "best" , it makes the most money and is advertised very well, but i'd still listen to underground bands and metal all day rather than switch my radio on for anything other than the wake up alarm in the morning.
Likewise FPS mainstream games , like music most are worn away by money and glamour IE halo but a select few rise to the top , let's assume CS as an example. Sure, i respect CS granted i've never played it as intensely to judge , and i'll give it the benefit of the doubt although the game felt really slow in my hands in prior hands. I'd still listen to underground music and metal over mainstream stuff any time. New metallica? nah gimme the black album CS? ill stick to GunZ

uh.
nor did I argue that the competitiveness of a game is based on how many sponsored or league/teams there are. cough
You pay once for cs, its not a subscription. A good competitive game [ aka gameplay ] will draw players. If you compare GunZ to CS+CS:Source [ the most popular multiplayer game in the world even if you included Korea and sc ] its pretty laughable to think a skilled GunZ player is comparable to a valuable member of a big CS team. Are there even leagues for GunZ?
What I am arguing is not absolutely stupid. Games that are good/harder will have a huge community behind them, aka sc and cs. except that's not what you're arguing. you're arguing that games that are good will have huge sponsors/leagues available to them
anyway, please define to me what you consider as 'wide' league/sponsor support. because i would argue that neither the old unreals nor the old quakes had it, yet they were fucking awesome.
moreover i still dont see why you're restricting it to fps only when it's clearly not a genre-specific point. and if it is, then did you miss the fact that gunz isnt an fps. anyway, AoX anyone?
