Only reminded me how i hate the conversation wheel and having my character voiced-over. Also the game feels pretty 'free to play'-ish to me, rather then game for 59$ + 15$/month. I like how you can sometimes choose how to do quest and whether to be bitch or good guy though. I feel exactly the same.

Also, I did the flashpoint thing to go to Coruscant from the republic space station thing. All it takes are a few dialogues and some voice acting, and the experience is entirely different from the instances in WoW. Technically, however, it still feels very unpolished. Alt+tab takes forever, loading takes forever, logging in takes forever, etc. And with them releasing at christmas, they really don't have a lot of time to fix these imo pretty big issues. At the end of the day, I think this game has the potential to become the "WoW-killer" that so many games before it were hyped as, but never became.

Try the 20+ flashpoints, they need heal/tank/dps and have some tricky boss-strats.

So the high level ones don't have the dialogue bits? Like they're just WoW instances with mobs standing around waiting to get killed?

I like how you can sometimes choose how to do quest and whether to be bitch or good guy though. I felt the exact same. While the story arcs would make a great huge RPG with 8 different and unique stories, it still had a lot of what I hate about MMOs. 20 mins of dialogue followed by 20 mins of running for 2 minutes of action/fighting. I am also biased towards the Fantasy feel and prefer huge creatures, races, darker environments, etc. It just didn't suck me in the way that Skyrim and some other games have. I bet going through the 8 story arcs could be fun though if one had the time and patience for it. I would check it out if it were FTP and skip the cool lewt, instances, and side quests just for the sake of time (and being an old fart, I don't have that much of it). Hope everyone else has a blast playing it though!

And when the choice is between a conversation wheel or a quest box full of text you'll never read anyway, I highly prefer the wheel. I dunno whats up with you, but I have a trash computer, and my alttab goes instantly, the load times are almost non existant, and log in takes about 15 seconds.

Do you use any non-default settings? My computer is pretty shit as well so if it works for you...

This seems really strange for me but I will love to hear why you don't like it.

For me, at least, as I share the same qualm, is that it ruins all sense of immersion. Having some guy voice what my guy sounds like and shit like that. Not only does it ruin immersion in a story based game, it also reduces resources in actual storytelling. When they were spending money hiring dozens of voice actors, some of them big name, they could have reallocated those resources to writing a significantly better script with actual dialogue options outside of a silly wheel and hiring even more writers. Voice Actors, just as a whole, I dislike.

Deciding to play a MMO for some people is almost like deciding weather to get married or not because they know they can get sucked into playing a lot ![]()
