By the way, what's going to happen to arcade SFIV once the console version is released? Is Capcom going to offer a (free?) upgrade for the arcade version? If I was an arcade owner who bought SFIV (especially with its ridiculous 12k / 2 players price tag), I'd be really pissed to find out that the arcade version was going to become obsolete.

Edit: The characters that is. I don't really think anything too major will happen to the arcade version

A must see for those who enjoy SF3:Third Strike. Not sure if it's been posted before. The highlight is at the end of the second round.

I haven't really messed around with non-shoto yet though, so any more experienced insight would be great. If you still aren't convinced, check out this match vid. Granted it's 2 low-tier characters and it almost feels like Yamazaki twelve mirror match, it's still a fun watch + Show Spoiler + On November 09 2008 10:09 t3r.sAnkAri wrote: + Show Spoiler + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS5peqApgUA A must see for those who enjoy SF3:Third Strike. I'd guess if capcom wanted the new characters on the SFIV arcade, they would already be in there on a time release like akuma and such.

Amusingly, it happened again this year: Justin Wong V Ryan Hart On November 09 2008 10:56 Scooter wrote: One thing I really do like, even though a lot of people might think it's lame, is extended block strings. Where as before only a shotos could do cr. lk lp lk mixup/super, a lot of characters in SF4 can mixup the length of their block strings into grabs or focus attacks or what have you. You know, a lot of games have much more varied block strings compared to 3s. E.g. Guilty Gear has Roman Cancels and I think it has jump-cancellable ground moves as well. I've heard at least one of the KOF games has a mechanic similar to Roman Cancels. And of course, the Arcana Heart series lets you homing cancel relatively liberally without consuming super meter, and most non-C normals are (super-)jump-cancellable (which are two of the things I love about AH ![]()

I figured playing Lieselotte or using Gier would be like playing Eddie in GGXXAC, but it's too different than what I'm used to ( ̄へ ̄) I still haven't found an arcade over here with AH2, either *sadface* Guilty Gear's pressure game is awesome though. I play Venom so I learned a ton of corner traps/FRC pressure strings that are a real bitch to get out of and crank guard meter like crazy. I'd learn how to play Jam, but those jump cancel high-low mixup games are too intense for me.
