Dhalsim gets to control the pace of the match most of the time, and if he's content to not take any risks or go for anything big (while holding a lead) then there's not much Sagat can do except be patient and either wait for Dhalsim to get impatient, or just put himself in a position to take a calculated risk. Generally speaking though, once Dhalsim picks up a decent life lead, there's no real reason for him to go after Sagat, and it's really hard for Sagat to make headway against a solid Dhalsim. It's not like those are two scrubs, either. Iyo was like the shining hope of Dhalsim in CvS2, for instance. Exactly Iyo was pretty much playing his game he was playing that way the whole tournament ( how nice of them to add "yoga tower" too). Also daigo didn't even make top 8 which stunned slot of peeps.

I got the match here: RF (Sagat) vs Iyo (Dhalsim) It's cool to see a Dhalsim player win this especially since Sagat is supposed to be top tier. That is one sic dhalsim! I'm amazed how Sim stayed alive for so long. On January 23 2009 07:01 CharlieMurphy wrote: Why did that sagat play that distance fireball game with the dhalsim when dhalsim looks to have an advantage in such a battle. (he has teleport, numerous ways to dodge fireballs, and attack under fireballs) Also, isn't Sagat supposed to do big damage in close combos? This guy was clearly playing a responsive fireball/uppercut strat that wouldn't work vs dhalsim. Sagat had to play that way and its not by choice with Sim keeping Sagat out. That was near flawless play by Iyo inorder to beat Sagat. Sagat would kill Dhalsim in a few moves while sim has to land so much more.

but doren and raekwon from b'ham didn't even show i dunno if he won tekken, i think that's what the screaming in the 3d fighter area was about... can't really say. there was a fucking ridiculous HD Remix set though where my friend knocked Justin Wong's Sagat into the losers bracket with his Zangief and the grand finals was so fucking close... i'm hoping that someone was recording it (for some reason only marvel and soul calibur ever seems to get recorded and uploaded) also, this was the first time an SF4 machine was in the southeast, so I managed to get some games in... Everyone played shotos or sagat because nobody knew who to pick yet except a bunch of people who hit start early on accident because of a weird setup of how the screen was showing the video from one of the 2 machines and the sound from the other so there was no response from hitting start... and then they got to play Abel. I played Abel because I knew I wanted to, I've been studying all the matchvids and the thread on SRK about him... so I did manage to beat a guy in the one casual I played. Though I ended up facing some guy who played it a lot already in Cali in the tournament itself... still took a round off him though. I didn't know that the sean kick can be used as a quasi-antiair in some situations far away though, that was nice to find out even. Though the startup on the roundhouse version is bigger than I expected it to be. I have a feeling that the better player from around here will be able to block high on reaction to it easily... I guess i'll have to stick with EX and short and medium.... Thankfully I could plug my stick into the ps2 port, I really really didn't like Wong's japanese stick.

Just to be clear I was 16 at the time so I'm allowed to say that without being creepy... :[ 3rd strike wasn't so bad, but the only person I could get a round in against was Issei's girlfriend. Back then I wasn't hardcore though, was only in Japan studying abroad. shiiit, didn't even know what super battle opera was back then. I got some games going at the fighting game club at my uni against some japanese exchange students but they were pretty mild. There was this really good ino player who could frc air dash hcl like no one's business, but that was the only person there that could rape my venom. I tried playing eddie and he's way easier to use then venom for me, but he just don't sit right with me if ya know what i mean. I'm trying out robo-ky so I can try rush down for a change, but I'm incorporating Nanashi's pressure and rush down strats into my game plan.

+ Show Spoiler + glad fatbear lost, generally Seattle peeps don't sit well with him because of his 3S/Marvel douchery If you guys want awesome Sanchez/gootecks commentary (at least methinks it's sanchez -w-), check out this match - it's a bit old though. Arcade Infinity match vids are gorgeous in HD. EL FUERTE 4 LIFE!!

I really only played a lot of 3s casuals and a little bit of SF4 and melee. i'm probably the worst melee player in the southeast who still plays melee and not brawl. i don't think it's that big a deal though... like i said, no good players showed a lot of people around here got pretty fed up with the last impact clash and how badly it was run... this one was less than professional too. 3S was scheduled at noon and started at 7pm really the only thing that ran well was HD remix because Shinblanka (the guy that runs final round) was in charge of it everything else only finished because justin wong was like fuck this and kicked off the guy running it and started running it himself
