Justin isn't bad at GG, tbh. Not great, but good enough to beat most people- depending on brackets, he could place pretty well. And if he catches a good player on an off day...
But yeah, not likely that he's gonna win GG or anything, but it's not like he's completely terrible at it.

Why did that sagat play that distance fireball game with the dhalsim when dhalsim looks to have an advantage in such a battle. (he has teleport, numerous ways to dodge fireballs, and attack under fireballs) Also, isn't Sagat supposed to do big damage in close combos? This guy was clearly playing a responsive fireball/uppercut strat that wouldn't work vs dhalsim.

It's not like the strategy won't work at all. And also, it didn't look like he wanted to play a fireball game in the first place. He wanted to get in because yes, it is where the damage is (uppercut fadc ultra, or toward+rh whatever he even did it in the first round). But he got locked out so I guess he fell back for a little while for the time out.

You don't just simply "get in" on Dhalsim, especially not a Dhalsim of Iyo's caliber. Sagat is too slow and too big to just try to barge his way in anyways. Dhalsim gets to control the pace of the match most of the time, and if he's content to not take any risks or go for anything big (while holding a lead) then there's not much Sagat can do except be patient and either wait for Dhalsim to get impatient, or just put himself in a position to take a calculated risk. Generally speaking though, once Dhalsim picks up a decent life lead, there's no real reason for him to go after Sagat, and it's really hard for Sagat to make headway against a solid Dhalsim.

It's not like those are two scrubs, either. Iyo was like the shining hope of Dhalsim in CvS2, for instance.

From what I gather Dhalsim is considered mid-tier (though as time goes on and people get more matchup experience, a character like Dhalsim usually climbs up a bit) but has one of the best matchups against Sagat.

And I think maybe I've seen tourney results showing JWong with Potemkin? I'm very likely way off on both statements though. -_-;; edit: lol I think I just missed seeing page 103 and the last 7 posts or so before posting the above.

I've been playing a bit of ssbb casuals lately since there's so many god damn smash players at my uni. I've been cheesing it up with Metaknight and Falco for easy wins since they don't require much to learn.

Anyways, I've been getting into the SF4 mood. I'm maining el fuerte (har har har) but he's fun as shit. I can get 3-4 reps of his hp loop consistently from image training all day and it leads to some stupid wins. On the other hand you get beaten stupidly by almost the entire cast if you can't land a knockdown or land some nice focus attacks. I can giga bastaaa jump-ins on reflex but doing it against boxer headbutts and tiger knees is impossible for me. Once console's out I'm gonna play around with fei long since he looks like he plays like 3s yang, but prolly gonna stick with the fuerte

I still do not understand SSB at all. Game just looks like chaos, don't understand how you win what the numbers mean etc%. Game never really appealed to me graphically either.
