I'm impressed by HoNs updates almost every time... unlike DotA's (or sc2) where often I am left scratching my head.

No, Portal Key jsut works like it does in dota now where if you double click it you teleport back towards base. (all those changes are for double clicks)

This is a great feature for pubs... Though they sometimes over do their UI, they seem to have a good grasp on functionality. I'd rather have it super elaborate then lacking everything.

accursed change was neat...

seems like a nerf, but an indirect buff imo, because people will actually consider spending disables on him now.

Hi, I'm new to HoN (didnt really play Dota, played a bit of LoL), and right now I'm in the phase where I read a hero guide and then practice him for a few games.

I've been wondering what a solid item build for predator is. I read a guide that suggested ghost marchers, elder parasite and charged hammer as core, followed by whatever dps items you wanted after that (I managed to get these three then savage mace and riftshards in one game). What I felt about this item build was:

1) It lets me jungle earlier and faster because of elder parasite
2) Its good for early/mid game 1on1 or 2on2 ganks, mostly because of ghost marchers and EP
3) Predator ends up with very little armor with this build, and, coupled with the fact that EP makes you take extra damage, his survivability in team fights is sub par

So I went back to the guide and read the comments, and realized everyone pointing out that this item build is completely incorrect. What they suggested was steam boots, insanitarius, shield breaker, savage mace. This build I feel doesnt let me jungle and farm as fast as the first one, is weaker for early game 1on1 ganks, but is better for team fights.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a decent item build for predator

You don't see how this helps accursed, insofar as it gives incentive for the enemy to waste stuns on him instead of a carry?? Traditionally, he's almost always been completely ignored in teamfights apart from long silences, and if he is focused it's because the enemy team fell for bait or the rest of your team is dead already. That's always been the core dilemma for any tankish hero... how do you encourage enemies to focus you instead of your teammates. If they fail to chain stun, then you win... if they do manage to chain stun, you still win, because that's 2+ stuns that aren't raping your dps or disablers.

I can see this being a serious problem if you like to play mock-based carry accurseds or something pubby like that.

I almost always use the ultimate manually anyways.

Treads, power supply(very imp on pred) is core

parasite is usually bad. infact the item build listed is terrible. 0 survivability or hp with parasite is >.<

you can make whatever item you want after treads battery really...
shrunken head, heart, shieldbreaker, demonic breastplate, hack&slash, parasite (i know i just said its bad), riftshards, savage mace, charged hammer, mock, HotBL, symbol of rage, insanitarius, blademail - etc all work

personally, i usually go battery/treads -> shrunken head -> demonic breastplate

if you really wanna make ghost marchers then make sure you get something that makes you fat next (or make bracers)

awww fuck i just noticed you said you didnt play dota... i have a really bad habit of using half dota names for items skills and heroes lol. gonna go back and change what i can i guess ugh

I know that's the intention of the change.. but i don't think it detracts much from how dastardly it is to play against him. He can still carry out his role of tank/support FINE. A lot of accursed players have a passive style anyways, where they spam spells/mek/mana ring from behind which is still freaking effective.

If they want to actually address the imba, mana costs and cooldowns!!! NOT his freaking ultimate.

... Do you not understand that they made it so that you can disable through his ultimate now? Thats a huge nerf. What made him imba is hes like a DS or some other healer that can remove disables that is retardedly hard to kill

I read your post and 90% of what you said is wrong. I would focus down an accursed without his ultimate most of the time over a carry because the accursed can actually remove the disables and heal the carrry, making the carry impossible to kill as well.

You could ALWAYS disable through his ultimate. I don't know if you screwed up your wording or whatever, but this change removes the auto-trigger behaviour, which means you can chain stun him to death without having to deal with the ult anymore.

Sounds good, right? But he's still a FUCKING SUPPORT HERO. Soaking up stuns for your carries/squishy nukers and disablers is GOOD. Becoming a tastier target is GOOD, because he's a fucking tank. This just means that an accursed will have to play a bit less aggressively. There's no dramatic nerf here... his spells still kick ass and long duration silences are still the best counter.

Yes, obviously what I meant was that you cant disable him during his ultimate lol....

Do you realize that he removes a disable every 9 seconds if you don't focus him (like before, because you COULDN'T)? Now you can throw one disable on him and kill him instead of him fucking your team up with heals and nukes and all around gayness all game.

I know you play with bads and this isnt the case for you, but all it takes is one disable to kill a hero with a competent team. Sort of hard to do that when he turns invulnerable no matter what disable or silence you use.

I assume Accursed is LoA? The casting nerfs to him made him a pretty balanced hero in DotA. The ultimate wasn't the problem, the shield is. It's a combination of the fact that the said hero could cast both of his offensive/defensive spells from a stupid distance on a CD that was quicker than most stuns and nukes made it broken. Nerfing the casting range, the cooldown or the mana cost on shield and/or heal would have done more to effectively nerf him than this shitty ultimate nix. It was pretty easy to lock out the LoA in DotA (especially after the cast range nerfs), I don't see how it's hard to lock out Accursed in HoN.

I know you play with bads and this isnt the case for you, but all it takes is one disable to kill a hero with a competent team. Sort of hard to do that when he turns invulnerable no matter what disable or silence you use.
