Bottle is a must on PoTM if you don't wanna go back to the base day and night...you just need to monitor runespots all day long (been playing PoTM the last 30 games or so to get the hang of arrowing). If I can be bothered to fix GGC I might pop in just to whoop Strafe's ass (been a bit scared how big the skill gap is here it seems...that usually do not lead to very fun games...especially not when the beginners are not listening - don't get me wrong, I remember where I started. But I listened to the more experienced ones. You may not be the best last hitting, but when you totally fail to listen to the "Miss XXX, care" or "Go back ffs you pushed alone too far" it can drive me (and others I guess?) nuts).
Ah well. Hf until then

nono blink+dagon is most fun combo

no, that's TB + Lothar + Dagon =)

Whoop me~
|
Sure will, but GGC is one buggy piece of sh**
Oh well, I'll maybe bother to fix it later today just to check out the legendary bly qop!

yesterday with mig.com he was Lich and I was NA, I went 26-1-(22) assists and he he went 14-2-(26) or something. We both had dagon and he had dagger+shiva. Man it was hilarious. Vengeance attack impale double dagon nova shiva. It was like 3000 nuke damage and nothing he could do:D

Mean lol . I also like playing lich with dagon, he can use that extra nuke well. I like when people don't expect an ulti when they're alone, only to get popped by 2 bounces thanks to the ranged creep standing nearby

Yes now you could realize I'm a selfish bastard and I always try to claim solo mid, as I don't trust anyone's last hit capabilities to be on par with mine (egotrippin' ftw)
|
Really depends where I play. I play in games now where I'm too ashamed to claim mid;D
|
And for tl.net I can't care less how I play it's just to kill bly or rpf;D

So it's pretty apparent close to nobody follows the pro teams of dota and I say this because of the bottle vs arcane vs pers on PotM.
She gets picked in about 80% of the games and only very recently have players decided to play the bottle into point booster item build. If you had watched any reps at all say about 5-6 months back every single PotM user went some sort of wraith into arcane into mjollnir. It's still apparent, as maelstrom into mjollnir is the number 1 damage/support item that people go for. I think it's slowly switching over desolator at this point. Mjoll is just nice to cast on your tank though.
I've seen so many players go arcane on PotM and I use that build myself. The style I play her is kinda like sniper where you are an extremely fragile hero who kinda plays outside the normal 800 range fight but I can say I would be confident enough to go against any of the better players here in a solo lane or a 1v2. I never really got the chance to use her in league games because my teammate liked to use her as a ganking lane hero, but I definitely would've used her more as a pure solo if I had the chance.

Ack, of course you are right. I personally use bottle because it's more convenient for me, and I find it harder to get Arcane and that gives no hp regen (well you got leap, you could escape most bursts halfway, but still) as one stated above. I also tried both mael and deso, and I might be a noob compared to you (I guess - I don't have time to watch DotA replays, playing the game takes enough time as it is ), but in my experience, deso makes you a better DPS early on (non-burst) but it's "harder" to clean lanes (you still gotta last hit every creep after starfall [not like it's THAT hard though], whereas with mael if it triggers once, you clear it instant). I am just too fond of "Chance on hits" I guess, cause the opponent often dies to an unexpected burst.
Personal preference.
Also I play it like this (I think someone described something similar) : 2 circlet 4 tango 1 clarity, bottle, boots then it varies, sometimes treads first if I have to go back to regen, sometimes I can directly buy mael (so treads / mael or other way 'round , but sometimes I just buy a point booster, depends on the game and opponents) then go for skadi, then mjoll. I think it's viable enough

Yeah, I love the normalized starting gold now. Now you can afford 2 tangos, 1 clarity, and 2 circlets, and then go for bottle. I tried bottle first in a few pubs, and it's nice in -RD when you can potentially grab a rune and go straight for FB (unless lock in your lane decides putting shadow word on your enemy running away with 100 HP is somehow not going to take the FB you just worked for sadf). But frankly, I hope the bottle goes back to the way it was before. With the new bottle, I sometimes have to use all 3 charges just to negate the burst harass done by a nuker, and then I have to run to the fountain anyways. What's the point?
Burst damage is great for taking down tanks, as it makes them harder to judge when they need to run, as you'll be hitting them for consistent damage, and then they get hit with a mjoll proc, or a crit or something, and it takes out a huge chunk of their health.
I never really considered mael/mjoll to be a support item, though, Ack. Is it because of the static charge, or just the burst AoE?

When I say support I didn't mean it in the traditional way. There's many different roles that heroes play obviously, and when I say mjollnir is support on PotM I mean that PotM as a late game carry fails simply because of her nature. Therefore, when PotM has a mjollnir it cements her as the secondary dps/carry in your team's lineup. It's much more obvious when she gets desolator, which is why I believe there will be an eventual switch to deso if people keep playing PotM in matches [ maybe not if 6.51 is stable anytime soon ]
I believe she's used so much because all of her skills remain useful to the entire team for the whole game. Starfall is very hard to push against, arrow is just ridiculous, and moonlight shadow's advantages are obvious. So when PotM has deso or mjollnir she's helping out her team even further with just her auto attack.
Throwing mjollnir static charge on your tank, say centaur or bristleback etc, allows you to control the battle in a major team fight. Because the tank is usually first to go in + the fact when he targets heroes, creeps will attack him, the enemy has no choice but to get hit by 200 chain lightning right off the bat [and that's just ONCE]. From that point, the mjollnir chain lightning chance will inevitably go off many times during the fight without you actually being in any danger. This is why I call it ' support ' but only on heroes like potm and deso for furion.
Just consider that mjollnir's aoe can go off at most once per second, but in a team fight where creeps or other attacks will undoubtedly hit whoever has the static charge, you're looking at a good 600 damage even when estimating safely. [without natural+item spell reduction ofc]

i mean i have seen better players get arcane on potm before but imo bottle+point booster works better at least for me haha, i dunno the 200 health seems like quite the benefit.
and strafe, by this point we all know your favorite item is dagon zz
