I like the art style, dunno what all the hate is about. I think it looks good.
Only really disliking UI atm, but that's by far the most minor aspect as far as i'm concerned

I'm hoping the graphics / art direction is just temporary for the beta, obviously a clean look is nice for spectating and ease of following the game, but this just seems way too bland and uninspired. Sure spectator features are nifty but you have to get the core of the game right for that to matter. Pre-emptive "yes I'm complaining about the graphics". Obviously it's way too early to make a judgement on the gameplay. R1CH laying the smackdown. (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=254752¤tpage=78#1548) The HoN UI and new spectator UI is so much better than Dota2 atm. However, I expect Dota2 will be constantly improved as it's patched. I must say that I expected more from the current Dota2 build. I think that the first game was the worst possible publicity for Dota2. There were huge breaks due to the lag (obviously not game-side but event-side) and it was slow because of the lineups. s2 doesn't get such preferential treatment why should valve get some. In other words haters gonna hate they better be consistent in that hate Frankly i'm thinking they are going to get sued if they don't change things up more, alot of the heroes look too much like their stock wc3 units, and the use of unreal tournament announcer etc i wonder what valves lawyers worked out to use.

I think the UI will be improved, as we're basically seeing the last alpha build, right?

The fact that some heroes are using their real names and some are using their second names show that they've already checked with the rights. Also they're Valve, I'm sure it crossed their mind.

Like the improvements to Source, the Steamworks upgrades will be available to third-party developers who choose to use Valve's tools when Dota 2 launches in 2011. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2010/10/13/dota-2-announced-details.aspx i think it's past being an alpha build this is a closed beta, near the open beta.

Na'Vi pretty much outclassed their group though, Scythe was the unknown factor but they showed that they're still as bad as when they left the scene. EHOME being the tryhard team they are will probably try to absorb any knowledge they can... and maybe get some sleep. Also Mith Trust making it 2-1 out of that group? MUFC was early on but M5?

Also, M5 has Santa, he made some pretty glaring errors to worked out for M5 against MYM.

EHOME vs TyLoo and OK.Nirvana.Int vs IG are gonna be huge matchups judging from how they played today. MYM vs Navi is tricky, because MYM looked shaky vs M5, and it seems like Navi had the easiest group.
