Great suggestions so far. Merlini is pretty much the best zeus player in history so reading even outdated material would be fine.
I guess the only tip I would add that hasn't been said is that zeus is more about how you play than the item builds. How you position or when you enter fights is much more important because his spell range and damage output is so high.
Wait for dota2. You will be better for it. Unless you have friends to play those other games.

It's very subjective and everyone has an opinion on DotA vs HoN vs LoL vs Dota2. If you want a trial to check out HoN, send me a pm. Trial doesn't allow stat games so it'll be with leavers and scrubs, but at least you can see what the game is about without paying.

Also I only play Dota atm, is it worth playing HoN or LoL? Or just wait for Dota2?
If you plan on playing for the long haul, go for DotA2. I don't think anyone will disagree with that.
Play LoL/HoN if you have friends playing there, otherwise just brush up on your DotA skills in prep for DotA2.

Everyone is bad, thinks they're amazing, and loves to yell out orders. I'm 1800+ on both my accounts and I've been playing with some 800-1500 MMR friends trying to teach them/playing for fun. I'll add you if you're interested but, again, you shouldn't be too serious. Is there a free spot left? I'm a 1600~1700MMR player but i can at least admit i still suck lol There's a free spot if the timing works out. I have lots of friends who play and we just form teams of whoever is around. I'll add you and I'll give you a shout when I'm forming a group. I'll add you if you're interested but, again, you shouldn't be too serious. I think being serious kind of ruins some of the fun in Hon. I don't really agree. I think "being serious" is often confused with "being a tool." Everyone is serious in that they want to win but most people you think of as serious are really just tools. Basically it comes down to personalities. I don't go and play low ranked games just to play wacky builds and still stomp people because I'm frustrated at my MMR. What I'm trying to say there is that my friends are bad to mediocre and if you want to play with us, you can't expect to win every game. We always have fun and I'm always teaching them but that doesn't mean I'm doing stupid builds every game. That's not to say I don't try out suboptimal items if we're going to win anyway but I don't throw games. Show nested quote +On April 22 2011 00:51 Vain wrote: Btw low psr doesn't meant they suck. I've played some 3v3's with 1300 psr players who really know how to play the game I know what you're saying because I've played lots of games with people rated all over the spectrum. However, low MMR does mean they suck even though that "suck" is all relative. There are some 1300 MMR people who have a great concept of the item/skill builds/playstyle of their hero -- better than some 1700. The reason why they suck is because they have terrible mechanics and, also often, game-sense. They haven't played enough games to be able to feel when to go in, when to use their skills, how to use their skills, and basically how to react to the current situation. For example, I've been playing with a friend for about a month and he's learnt some good strategy and concepts. The problem is, he hasn't played enough games to become intuitively good so in a team-fight/abrupt situation, he doesn't have time to think and he reacts poorly.
hope you see you online sometime. Btw the 5 rampage thing was against 1600~1700 players so not total noobs^^. They just left when they still had a good chance lol

Did whispering helm ever stack with frostburn (sange and yasha??) for ranged heroes in Dota?
Also, is the geobane + frostwolf skull combo (manta + skadi I think) as popular in Dota as it is in HoN?

In dota, the maim effect from sange is chance-to-proc, and thus it works with a few orb effects, but lifesteal overrides it.
Yes, manta and skadi is viable and popular, possibly even more so in dota because lifesteal stacks with skadi slow on ranged heroes.
