So what is the status of the NDA and streaming? I saw there were one or two streams going over the reveal but I don't see anyone playing now, is it back to NDA?

Gameplay from the last beta phase is still under NDA. There is no beta phase running right now. Artosis went over some games of Parting on his stream recently. Maybe some individuals still have special access w/o NDA, Idk.

For pretty much everyone, the NDA is still active. Some content creators were given special access to the frigate test to showcase the celestials, and the afterMath team made a few matches with its players (albino, PartinG, TheoRy) public for said creators to make videos of.

At this time, there is no playtest running, so it's just the creators who have access in-game. They are playing the same version playtesters (and backers) played back in May. The version shown in the PC Gaming show, however, is slightly more updated (The cabal unit for the celestials has its textures and model, for instance).

Sidenote for those curious about unit stats, buildings, etc. Liquipedia is currently updating that information over the next few days (as FG gave permission to do so). there are also a couple of tournaments where Celestials were used if you want to at least see who might be playing them:

The 3 race will have major balance issue, will takes years to balance. Random units throw in the game just like SC2. Do they not learn from SC2 by hoping tweeting HP, power, speed and cool-down will fix balance? Infernal and Celestial has no unit building time. Look like human is the weakest race.

i dont like how slow the main celestial core seems to move, i understand it may be op if it moved faster but i wish they found a different way to balance the race that felt on par with the other races

Asymmetrical balance is tough to get right, and I don't think it's possible to be perfect, but it is good that the races play so differently and have their strengths/weaknesses.

Vanguard held 3 of the top 5 spots in the last beta: https://stormgate.untapped.gg/en/leaderboard

I wouldn't worry about balance until the game is released to EA for all. From the betas, they seem fine to fairly quickly tune down obviously OP units (like hornets a couple builds prior).

That's definitely not the case. All celestial units have building times. What the celestials have is that you can spawn all units from the same building. Imagine having 5 Baracks and can chose one where all units produced will spawn. You can't spawn them from the main building, either. All you see in the trailer is buildings being warped in, which also have a building time.

Celestials are the slowest race. There core is slow, they have those really slow shooting tanks, their spellcasters are slow. I don't like that being the army theme outside of kri and those blinking cars. Slow just doesn't feel good.

There has to be slow for there to be fast. If every faction/unit is fast, no faction/unit is fast. Celestials still have fast units like kri, vectors and scythes. Maybe more soon. But not every faction or unit composition has to be for everyone. That's the good thing with asymmetrical factions.

I was a little surprised because this guy has played the beta a lot... he stomped me a few times also.

The game needs to attract people. The gameplay is legit really fun (to me) and I'm not the one to be too critical of lore, but others definitely do care a lot about lore/looks. First impressions matter.

He's not wrong. FG set them selves up for bad feedback with a new race that looks so protoss-y.

The gameplay in a lot of areas is really good, but the cinematics and presentation of their reveals leaves a lot to be desired.

They might have been better off not keeping things a secret at all, and allowing the community to give feedback even earlier (like during the aesthetics and unit design phases), or kept everything a secret up to near release, or at least up to the point they had finalised environments and models.
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

I disagree you have to innovate on the faction trope, I would love a Diablo theme RTS. (Even if it's Diablo 3 style)
The problem again all comes down to how visually bland it is.

That trailer also really needs much better presentation, it's a video showcasing the third faction yes, but it's also for campaign players.

I just don't see how any of the units would look cool in the cutscenes. Even that slam moment lacks real impact, no consideration on camera movements etc.

Even indie titles are making way better promo videos, and aesthetic goes a LONG way. look at killknight as an example, it's a game that knows its audience.

You don't need truely innovative factions or a supre exciting lore, most of all they never ever should look bland... Stormgates issue is that tons of stuff just looks bland. Somehow they managed to even make Demons look "meh".

His ID is just B2WNeo - doesn't have a lot of games from Frigate (I searched that name on the leaderboard). I think I played him in previous betas, and his MMR isn't high either. Mine is only like 1450-1550ish. So he's not some high level person.

Saving my true grinding for when I get a new PC (mine is 10 years old) and the ladders aren't reset every other month.

lmao that definitely isn't neo. (referring to the guy who said he was high mmr)

while he's a great guy I can probably beat him in wc3 using my feet on the floor for mouse and keyboard, and I can't imagine his skill in stormgate is any better.
