Whatever a publisher does probably. They will handle marketing, presumably get deals with PC bangs (since it is Korea), maybe work on localization etc.

AFAIK that it the sole reason they build this whole netcode/ rollback whatever thing from the ground up. To have basically 2000 supply of units on screen lagfree. If it works remains to be seen.
Obviously this is only server side. If your PC can't handle the graphics/ effects that is another story

I assume their tech guys are working on making 3v3 playable. If they want the game to have casual appeal it needs to run on non-spacestation PCs. And their minimum requirements according to steam are fairly mild (a 10 year old system can hit that).

I'm no developer so I don't know if it's actually possible to make 3c3 with 300 cap armies playable. The play tests they've shown so far don't run particularly smoothly but obviously optimisations are going to come much later

SC2 was always limited to 2 cores if I remember correctly, even modern PCs with 8+ cores don't really have higher clock speeds than they did 10 years ago so SC2 4v4 etc can still be a pain to play.
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

Kakao is the biggest messaging app in Korea - literally every single person has it (I swear it must be 95%+ share). I also have it having lived there and still keep in touch with friends/family (my wife is Korean). Kakao being their publisher for Korea can only be a good thing.

I'd be careful giving money to Frost Giant. They've made many public statements about their precarious financial position.

These big losses occur as the parent company tightens up its governance and protocols. This is not a situation that "can only be a good thing".

The alternative is that the engineers tell the game designers "we can't actually get good FPS with so many units" so 3v3, by necessity, becomes more about controlling heroes and small armies. Which I don't even think would necessarily be a bad thing (but would be disappointing for people who love 3v3 and 4v4 BGH / fastest). It'd also mean that 1v1 players don't get to enjoy a trickle-down effect of having even higher FPS and taking advantage of 240hz++ monitors.

I more mean because of their 97% market share in Korea (number retrieved from a quick Google). Kakao isn't going anywhere. I'm not familiar with their games publishing specifically(Kakao acquired them just as I left Korea, it seems), just how ubiquitous the Kakao name is.

I've never heard a Korean speak poorly about the app or company. (I'm sure they exist, somewhere).

But your point about negative income is of course valid.

Kakao Chief Investment Officer Bae Jae-hyun was arrested. I'm sure some Koreans somewhere had to be saying something negative about Kakao for that to happen.

Again though... relative to EA or Atari or Mattel or other giant video game mega publishers.. Kakao is no better or no worse. These mega publishers frequently get into dust ups with government regulators. Sometimes they are doing really scummy stuff or illegal things... sometimes they are innocent.

Bringing this back to the game and how it impacts consumers. EA shut down all the C&C multiplayer servers. If things go bad for Frost Giant the exact same thing could happen with Stormgate.

Why put them in one drawer or the other. Why not their own drawer.

As for the maps: You always could put something in that hinders or blocks flyers/ flying buildings I guess. Think thunderstorms/ EM-Storms or tornadoes or whatnot to make it lore compatible.
The slow flying zones in SC2 came like 10 years after release and are basically in every map these days

It doesn't need to look like demon we are used to, but it doesn't need to look like a cultish clan.
Same way Diablo doesn't have a traditional angel design, but you for sure can tell it's majestic and holy.

Doesn't look good. In my opinion, sadly, this title won't even take off the ground. There will be some interest in the beginning and then it'll just die.
