Do not run level 80 domains. It's a waste of time. Is there a specific domain you're trying to run?
For soloing, you need to build your team specifically for the domain. You can typically tell what is working and what is not, and adjust your team accordingly. For instance, my thundersoothers team used to run Bennett, but the cincin flies just combo the shit out of you in his ult due to overload. So I swapped him for a level 30 Amber for utility. Her E attracts the cincin mages when they go super saiyan, and her charged shots reduce the time they spend in super saiyan. But she's so low level that she just gets oneshot. So I stuck a electro resist tiara on her. The clears aren't fast (4-5min?), but it is consistent.
Also, use food and potions if you're having issues. This isn't abyss, so abuse the crap out of this mechanic.

The Noblesse Oblige/Bloodstained Chivalry domain (It's called "Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern" and is located in the northwest end of Liyue) can be cheesed if you sprint to the far right right after starting it. Only 1 or 2 of the mages will actually aggro and fight you. Divide and conquer.
To clarify a bit, let's say the direction you face when you enter the domain is North. The moment you hit the start button in the middle, sprint to the Southeast corner and face the wall. If done correctly, two of the mages will appear in front of you against the wall. Break shields to stun them and DPS them against the wall.

So maybe 4 rolls after getting Razor, I had some really good luck, and got Chongyun. I've been running around just finding chests in liyue and rolling all of the wishes that these MHY thank you notes and the gliding challenge have been giving me, and it happened - the geo daddy is mine :D very excited. I've heard he's not as good as people wanted, but no matter. I believe this makes my roster up to 18 characters.
As far as a secondary team is concerned, I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much. I'll work on the abyss and try to be as methodical and intelligent about it as I can, instead of just mashing buttons lol

The Chinese Genshin community is severely pissed at the power level of Zhongli so he might see some buffs (or just a reversion to some of the stuff he had in Beta).

Rolled 55 times on the Zhongli banner. No razor, no chongyun... just 5 Xinyan and a Beidou. I guess that's lucky?

You guys plan to level some toons to the breakpoints of 20, 50, 70 to get some free wishes once 1.2 comes? I'm personally debating it... lv 20 shouldn't be too demanding purple book-wise. I also have like 2 characters at 40ish, might as well push them to 50?

I usually level things to 60 or not at all, so 70 is kinda annoying.

Can't rush lvl 70 if you have no resources. I'm down to 120 books and I still have a bunch of characters I'd like to level.

Yea I got a pretty good Hydro cup (from the Petra dungeon lol) and decided to work on my Childe a bit. He lvl 70 but now I have sub 40 books lol.

Got bored of my B comp being entirely around Xiangling (with Jean, Kaeya, and Fischl) and so am going for a comp of Childe, Xiangling, Jean, Xinyan, which just feels more interesting to me.
Childe and Xinyan were both at lvl 1. I'm now at zero books and they're both at 40/40 only. It's gonna be a grind :D

Level 20 is basically free so imma do that with all but not higher.
Artifact hunting is taking basically all my game time. But I made it work (mostly ^^)
Did you know there are 5* artifacts with 3 sub stats and some with 4 sub stats? What the hell?
And they can be all kinds of useless? This is killing me.
I have two wishes for the future:
- Implement a catch-up mechanic for new chars (unfortunately since the new wishes for 20,50,70 this is not gonna happen)
- Make artifact refinable/ craftable/ changeable. Some way to change the sub-stats
3 days until Cyberpunk. You guys stayin with Genshin or will you use your game time for Night City (like me probably)?

I'll log in to genshin and do the daily commissions and maybe use 3x condensed resin since doing both of these things should take a grand total of... say 30 minutes, but I sure as hell will dive into Night City with a smile on my face in 3 days.
I already warned my FF XIV guild I'll be MIA for the beginning of patch 5.4 and a lot of them will be as well, lol. Maybe I can save myself a whole month's sub.

I treat Genshin as basically a mobile game - log in, do some dailies, do some more (ie. go kill abyss mages and such) if I have time, but otherwise I don't fret over it. As Latham said, it takes maybe 30 minutes tops, not a biggy.

I think I'll wait a few weeks so they will sort out a few game-breaking bugs that a game of that scale and complexity is bound to ship with that remain undetected before a mass of gamers find them.
As for artifacts, I don't care about substats, unless I am looking for crit rate/crit damage for a character that wants it or has innate crit rate or crit damage boost. (Only Keqing for me so far.) Just by switching around my flowers and feathers from other characters, I seemed to get a decent crit rate/damage. Seems pointless to put off a source of a major dps spike for that potential 1 in a million chance of a potential extra max 20% dps. You will want the right artifacts leveled up even with subpar substats to farm domains for artifacts with better substats.
It's not like I have a choice anyways: for instance I only have one 5 star feather so if I want a lvl20 feather I have to use that. I only have one 5 star Sands with ATK%, so it doesn't matter if its substats is HP%, flat HP, DEF%, flat Def, it is still the best Sands I have. Then I have to consider how the artifact sets would work. If you have to worry about substats, you are suffering from a wealth of choice.

I might invest more into Ningguang, Bennet to get them to 50, and Barbara to 70, but the tasty wishes GET IN MUH BELLY.

It's a pretty awesome part of the update, is there any specific reason they're doing this? According to my calculations while at work, I should be getting roughly... 28 wishes, and then some more after I spend a bunch of resin on ley lines this week, then take any stardust I get to buy even more books. Maybe it's an X-mas thing, at least that's how it feels lol

Artifact farming is suffering.
I'm kinda slow leveling Childe cause I'm going to wait until the hydro artifact set is out. I barely ecked out a passable Petra 2 piece for my Ningguang and I use her to farm most of my domain runs lol.
Gunna start preparing for the legendary cocogoat herself Ganyu. I am at 77 on pity so I either get her or I have the guaranteed pity for the next character I roll for (probably Ayaka).
At this point my daily play time is pretty short unless I'm bored and want to go farm out some Fatui's or something. I already collected enough flowers/minerals to last for a long while.
