Running out of Mora and Red/Purple books to try to get my characters up to snuff, and I'm wondering at what point I should go the same route finally with my artifacts or if I should wait until after achieving something else. Depends what you want to do with your characters. 4 character in the overworld, you can get by with underlevelled, low artifacts and low talents. If you are running out of experience books, you must be levelling lots of characters at once so it sounds like you like to constantly swap between characters using elemental reactions to fight, so using a 2 piece set of 4-star Gladiator with 4-star Wanderer or Instructor can work well. The rarest is goblet of the physical/element damage type so that can be the 5th slot that is open to any type. The feather is the priority as the large increase in flat attack is the one thing that benefits a character the most for a lot of challenges. I would if you just reach WL5, you would want to aim for lvl 12 for the artifacts you are certain you want the mainstats of and for the feather try to aim for lvl16. If you are running out of mora, there is no way around it, you just have to choose to spend resin on your money ley lines, the yellow ones. Alternatively you can destroy your artifacts for money (1 star is 420 mora each), but I don't recommend it.You can also exchange ameno and geo sigils for mora at the jewelry shops once you brought every other item out, since they have no other use. As for experience books, how many characters are you trying to level up at once? Level up the characters you spend the most time on first. That said past lvl 70 you very much get diminishing returns and weapon level is vastly more important. I don't really understand how you could had ran out of experience books so quickly. As a frame of reference I am at WL5 as well, Adventure rank 42 and I have 1 level 80, 3 level 70, 1 level 60, 2 level 50 and 2 of level 40. I don't recommend doing artifact domains until you run out of artifacts to feed One advice is to look up artifact | ||

Wouldn't mind having some of these types of conversations live.As far as the wisdom of my spending habits, my team started out as Anemo Traveler / Xiangling / Barbara / Fischl, which I made all level 30. This was fine, still had plenty of books after doing that. Eventually rolled Bennett and replaced Traveler, then after leveling my main team 20 more times, rolled Qiqi, switched out Barbara, bumping Qiqi up to level 50 also. But after hitting floor 5 of Spiral Abyss, and salivating at the primogem rewards, decided I wanted to have a 2nd team. Thought I wanted to put Noelle in it, so I leveled her up a bit, not sure what she's at maybe 40/50? Then, recently rolled Xingqiu, and now Ningguang, switched Kaeya back out for Barbara again on my main team, slapped Ning/Xing into a team with Sucrose and Kaeya and leveled up those 3 to be 50 as well, and since then I've leveled up Xiangling / Bennett / Kaeya / Fischl to 60 seeing that it's basically my overworld team atm, and that's where I've noticed I'm starting to run dry. Maybe either I mismanaged how many levels my supports got, or maybe that Spiral Abyss just shouldn't be attempted in earnest yet, probably the former... I just never knew which "thing" was the most important to do to make a character "work", given my ever-climbing WL. Sounds like I should have only done targeted exp books to my DPS and then less on my supports, very targeted artifact leveling with like the feather first etc, and then leveling up specific weapons. But I've gotten better and better weapons over time too, so I've definitely wasted some ore on weapons. Like, a while ago I rolled Skyward Spine, but then started hearing about how good Crescent Pike was so now I have two high-level polearms. Thankfully since weapons can be leveled up with mineable materials, I'm not too worried about running out of those. Now that I'm AR40 though, I guess my next goal is to boost my AR as fast as possible, while picking up as many ley lines as I can for mora/books. I think I have like 30 fragile resin which I've been kind of scared to blow because of a possible opportunity cost, but whatever it takes to qualify to the point where I can start farming "real" artifacts, that's where I wanna be - but I'm not sure when that is. I've heard some people say AR40, others AR45, and some people still say it's not worth it at 45. Does anyone know if ley lines are the most efficient way to spend resin for AR purposes? Farming for artifacts sounds like a fun way to torture myself Looking forward to it. | ||

Right now at AR 47 I have four level 80s, three 70s, one 60 one 50 and the rest 40 or below. (I did buy the 1st BP tho and probably will eventually buy the 2nd). Amusingly enough I don't really want to use Benett so despite having him at C2 I don't use him really or the other god support Xingqiu. | ||

Definitely happy now that I see the new pity chars are Barbara and Kaeya lol. For XP, I see it the same as you guys. I have 4 x lvl 80 and 4 x level 70, with the same level weapons respectively. Best case you can split the 4 x 80s in the Spiral so you get two teams with 2x80, 2x70 and can clear until Spiral 9 pretty easy. After that it gets more complicated. I shamefully neglected talents pretty long (until the Fischl event to be exact) but talents make a huuuge difference. I would definitely not recommend using artifacts to get money! You WILL use all your trash artifacts to level your good artifacts. I basically have only the artifacts left that I have equipped with my two teams and they are nowhere near maxed EDIT: @kyarisan your AR will rise quick enough, no need to boost. Just concentrate on one character at a time and bring him/her up to 80, with 80 weapon, talents all level 5+ and artifacts level 12+ Start with your main DPS chars and slowly work your way to Sup DPS and then Utility/ Support EDIT: Maybe you can get Zhongli for your 2nd polearm. He might be a good main DPS. Reading through your character history it seems you are missing one main DPS for building two teams. | ||

I have her on 20k+ HP and with every attack she heals about 270 HP for every char in the party while E is up. Haven't done much Spiraling beyond 9 but I can imagine her beeing quite useful even without C6. And she can sing pretty good :D Constellations in general can make characters quite OP. My Xiangling C5 often does more damage than my Klee C0 ^^ (don't have the pyro artifacts yet) | ||

FWIW you don't really want to/need to use Pyro set on Klee (her skill CD is too meh to make use of 4set) - 4set Troupe actually does more given the massive boost it gives her charged charge attack. | ||

if you use tirgger reactions with Klee often then use Crimson Withc if you find yourself want to use more charge attacks use Wanderer if you want to use Mono pyro set ups and you generally just do solo play Use lavawalker if you want a set that is very safe 2pcs withc with 2 noblesse or gladiator | ||

No idea what artifacts I had, but I was using the adventurers handbook as a guide for leveling artifacts with weapons and character lvls and since my main dps still has a lvl 12 artifacts I guess I had 8 of lvl 12 artifacts across my 2 main dps chracters. You certainly should have an easier time at floor 7 than me who had to brute force my way through some fatui shields due to lack of high level characters that could deal with shields. I had to level up Amber to more safely deal pyro damage to deal with Cryo fatui shields for instance. But for floor 5 and 6 I basically did those with 6 characters that were underleveled and with bad artifacts, but there's no rush to do those in particular. Though it's best to do those if you have spare time just to see what abyss is like and to see if you can push through to floor 9. You got Bennett so you should check out that video. Seems all you need is a bennett and appropriately selected supporting characters. I wouldn't bother worrying about AR to be honest. You can't really affect it anyways, except by blasting through the rewards in the adventurer's handbook or storyline quests in the early stages of the game and at AR40 you ware well over that period already. There's no real reason to try to be a higher WL anyways since you aren't trying to do floor 9-12 yet. I don't worry too much over artifacts either. I ate up my 3 star for 4 star artifacts and it doesn't seem to hurt me that much. The conversion rate is 80% I think. People looking for the perfect artifacts is very much a case of torturing themselves for an extra 20% dps. Personally I'm happy with the right main stats and the right piece set. Spending resin gives AR all at the same rate. | ||

I agree that going for perfect artifacts is largely a waste of time (still running a crap 4* VV support here <_<). That said, even trying to get the correct main stat is an exercise in frustration. I'm a solid week or two into farming thundersoothers, and I still only have 2 usable pieces. Shit suuuucks. | ||

Also holy crap the golden house is insane. I don't know why the story mode fight with Childe is so different than the one in the domain, he's probably higher level or something but god he just shreds any of my toons in 2 or 3 hits. When I go in to one of those places and I use multiple food buffs, like +ATK and +DEF, do they both apply or does the last one override the previous one? I may consider stacking constant dual buffs to try to make it easier to get a prototype drop because I really want to refine my Pike. The only reason I want to grind my AR is so I can start getting more 5-star artifacts, but TBH I don't know the full depth of how that works or how hard it is to find 5-star mats in general. My weekly process (unless there's a special event like with Fischl and Mona) is: Monday, fight stormterror, fight the wolf (I would do the golden house here as well if I could actually clear it), build my reputation, do the daily commissions, spend the rest of my resin on getting needed ascension mats available that day, then repeat the daily stuff until I have more time to dive into the game on the weekends, where I'll also collect world mob mats. Along the way of doing everything I will mine any ore that I find or pick up sparkling inventory stuff obviously. And after talking to all of you guys, now I'll do ley lines instead of ascension mats if I don't need to ascend anyone rather than focus on bosses. The real goal is to be able to add the abyssal moon stuff to my rotation though, which is why I wanted to have two teams, but maybe it's too early to worry about a second team for now. Question about the prototype drops: Is there any reason to do the higher level ones, other than the additional artifacts? Does it make it more/less likely to drop prototypes? | ||

And yeah weekly bosses on Sunday because domains are terrible that day, but like Firebolt I take it easy, I want to keep having stuff to do so I'm not minmaxing too much. | ||
