So I just rolled Chongyun again, decided to put him in my main team over Kaeya, which opens Kaeya up for my 2ndary team with Razor. I find that combining their ults is really nice. Now I have Bennett / Xiangling / Fischl / Chongyun, and Razor / Kaeya / ? / ? for my 2nd team. But as far as the other two party members I'm at a bit of a loss. I have plenty of other characters, but I'm not sure what gels together best.
I feel like everyone recommends Xiangling, and especially Fischl and Bennett, to be in every team so it makes it feel like I'm putting too many all-stars in one team. Maybe I should replace Fischl with Xingqiu for freeze/shatter w/ Chongyun and use Fischl as a battery for Razor in my other team, and then I could make the fourth either Qiqi or Sucrose or something...
Xiangling gets recommended a lot because she's welfare, but for example in your case she sort of overlaps with Razor and Razor simply does moar damages (while also providing half of what's needed for Superconduct).
To be honest I feel like you may get more mileage out of Bennet/Xingqiu/Xiangling/Chongers where Bennett is your main DPS and you basically set up melt to just obliterate things while his ult is running:
Your other team can then be a simple Razor/Kaeya/Qiqi/Fischl or something where you just go to town with Razor's physical DPS.
You shouldn't be thinking in terms of main and secondary team. You should be mixing characters around according to the enemies you will be facing in each chamber. Some chambers you can even do with one character. As long as you have 1 main dps and 1 healer/shield and whatever elements are needed for each chamber.
Btw what is wrong with your character screen? It doesn't show your character levels and the the background looks blank. If I remember correctly, you have 8 levelled up characters with all the right elements so use those instead.
What does "rolled Chongyun again" even mean? Just tell us what his constellation level is. Xiangling generally get recommended because everyone will have a Xiangling and she is Pyro and with Crescent Pike, a craftable weapon everyone can get, she is strong. Bennett is pyro too, but no point recommending a character if a person doesn't have that character.
It what I'm working with. Benny boy I guess is my next project. Kinda ignoring Xingqiu who people love but resources be limited and I also need to prepare for the Cocogoat arrival.
I should have some time to really tackle Spiral Abyss with earnest soon, after I get home from work I have enough time to do daily stuff and spend my resin, and maybe some time to go look for materials or chests, so when I get that chance I'll look through the specific chambers and such before diving in. I divide my free time on weeknights between dinner/prep and spending time with the bae. But the reason I speak in terms of teams, although I'm sure it's not the ideal strategy, is just because I hope to avoid putting character EXP books down on any characters that aren't needed, so if two teams are capable of running some of the middle floors of the abyss I can get them to the level they are needed to be - although I don't really have a sense of what levels they need to be at for each floor. But the original intent was to have two "teams", and add to their levels if it feels like things aren't working. After I switched Kaeya out for Chongyun in my main team, I noticed floor 7 chamber 1 was a lot easier.
That's not actually the character select screen, I'm currently away from my PS5 so I went to genshin.gg and pulled the list of characters from the front page, and with Chrome I deleted the HTML for the characters I don't have. Takes me about a minute or so to do total.
As for the constellations, I apologize but I just got Chongyun like a week ago and so what I was saying is that he is now C1, but I'm not certain of many of the constellations in my roster because I've gotten many scattered ones. I'll have to check when I get home and record them somewhere so I can keep better track in the future, but here's what I believe is pretty accurate:
Regarding CP, I have an r2 CP I think right now, but I also have Skyward Spine, and I have some random notable weapons but I'm probably forgetting some:
(all are r0 unless otherwise stated) Skyward Spine Skyward Pride Sacrificial Sword Sacrificial Fragments Sacrificial Greatsword Aquila Favonia The Stringless The Flute Favonius Greatsword/Warbow Favonius Sword Favonius Codex Prototype Aminus Prototype Malice Dragon's Bane Rainslasher r2 Iron Sting Lion's Roar The Black Sword Fillet Blade r5 Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers r5 x2 Skyrider Sword r5 Skyrider Great Sword r5 x3 White Iron Greatsword Twin Nephrite r5 White Tassel r5 x2 Cool Steel Halberd r5
And maybe some other 3-star ones that are situational at best.
EDIT: I haven't even mentioned which artifacts I have, most of them are 3 stars though. I have like maybe 5-10 5-star items and 20 or 25 4-star ones, and those latter two groups are probably not the best main or sub-stats since their number is so small. Got my very first Noblesse artifact last night, only have one Gladiator's goblet.
You got a 5* claymore and a 5* spear, so might as well use those. 5* weapons are a huge leap over 4* weapons. As for EXP books, you already put down plenty of character EXP books down on characters that aren't needed so, uh too late there hahaha. You can only use 8 characters for abyss at any one time. At this point I would just say use EXP on the characters you enjoy using. At the very least, you got plenty of wishes incoming for 1.2
The problem you are having is that you are preparing for abyss, but you have no idea what you are preparing for, as you haven't given it a go. Which is why you are coming up with strange ideas like a main and secondary team. At the very least you should be able to plow through till floor 7 when you need to match elements to shields, but even then I recall doing one of the fatui chambers by sheer dps.
You on the other hand have overleveled chracters with at least 2 characters of each element leveled up with 5* weapons. With the weapons and characters you have, getting to floor 9 abyss should be a breeze. I got there with far less than you have. Don't worry about the artifacts as long as they are upgraded. Remember to enhance your artifacts. I didn't even use 5* artifacts till floor 9 and even then it was at +16 (a feather).
As for Chongyun, I have a lv50 C0 Chongyun, but I had difficulty trying to use him synergistically with other characters. His elemental skill ability mucks up the elemental weapon/artifact bonuses and abilities of my other melee chracters. I use him only when I have need for cryo. Then again you have a 5* claymore, so whatever, you can just use him as a main DPS. But you also have Razor. You are pretty spoilt for choice.
I got the Aquila 5 star sword but I don't use it and its my only 5 star weapon lmao. If I get Jean (or maybe Ayaka in the future) it will find a good home but my Keqing is using a r3 Lion's Roar.
The black sword is silly. Crit rate substat, a good passive, and healing to boot. It's good on pretty much every sword carry.
Floor 7 just requires a decent carry and the correct element supports for shield breaking. I agree that getting to floor 9 is very doable as-is, assuming talents and artifacts are okay.
Chongyun is weird. While he messes up a lot of typical setups, he's op as hell in melt comps. For instance, Bennett autos + short press skill since the CD is so low. Or Xiangling autos + ult.

Aquila is the second-best weapon for Keqing, only being beaten out by Black Sword because for some reason that weapon is busted af.
I used my BP on Solar Pearls for Ningguang unfortunately, if I had known from the start I would have grabbed a BS but now r3 LR beats out both of those at r1 iirc from the keqingmains doc. Though that keeps changing because they are continuing to test and BS/AF/LR are close to each other depending on refinement.
The crit rate stat on BS is def attractive but I am in desperate need of a Bow for Childe so my next BP weapon is going to him.

True but at R3 they also say (assuming you have 66% uptime on electro debuff on an enemy) it is pretty much tied with r1 AF and in situations where you get near 100% uptime (like vs electro fatuis) it out performs it. Its useless though vs anything where you can't apply electro to though. Tbh the decision was mostly based on the fact that I got the AF after I had already reached level 80 on LR lol. I been slowly putting resources into it when I have spare resin but right now its just chilling on the traveler.
What is up with Keqing? I swear, there are more words and theorycrafting dedicated to building a Keqing than there is on any other character, despite being for the most part an uncomplicated character to understand and use. The only suprising thing about Keqing is how ridiculously fast the charged attacks are, though you will not be using that much in the abyss. Edit: Ans that spot of wierdness with being able to charge attack after the 4th normal attack. Not that I am complaining. Always nice to see attempts at maths.
I'm sure there's the whee girl char factor, but from a pure maths perspective as an electro-based non-claymore DPS character that scaled with a crit damage passive and with multiple relatively effective build directions and playstyles, she served as an interesting starting point for number-crunching the potential damage output of elemental reactions frame-counted motion values, and comparing damage types. It's a little different from like a Diluc who does more damage but as a pyro character it's more about surrounding him with a good team comp given there's not much to his actual kit due to the way it works (busted claymore motion values, crit rate passive, and pyro).
If you think about it, in order to try to squeeze out 'the most efficient keqing build' these folks had to number crunch the EV of crit rate vs. crit damage vs. attack (which is what helped pave the way for realizations regarding base atk vs. regular attack), the EV of elemental damage vs. physical damage vs. atk (because she has 80% uptime on her electro but can also be built to physical), the efficacy of artifacts and how they trigger (ie. finding out that thundering fury only works for the trigger character which helped folks define aura and triggers in a reaction) and so on.

I think the problem is that electro is behind pyro in terms of usefulness and DPS, and that pushes her towards a choice between physical DPS and electro DPS (gladiator's + chivalry vs thundering fury or thundersoother?) which are much more in-line in terms of DPS. That and she's a fan favourite.
