I know what you mean about the SRKs bill, Akuma's sub boss is Ryu (hes harder than gill). My akuma (and all akuma strats i think) involve a lot of jumping around, so its a bitch to deal with CPUs AA.
Hey Bill, I've seen speedruns on many games including some SF games (tool assisted and not). And I suggested this on SRK forums and they didn't like the idea. You wanna try and do some? Or like have a competition on seeing how can do it the fastest? I don't know any tricks other than when Gill jumps in the air you can tatsu him like 99% and you can stop his ressurection with certain moves.
At the least if anyone knows any cheap ways to rape a CPU character or any glitches that would be nice to list them here.
Hmm... I don't think a speed run would be very entertaining: it'd probably consist of finding a fast and reliable way to beat CPU characters and then doing it over and over and over and over and over...
E.g. repeating Makoto's lk-karakusa -> hp xx hp-hayate (not EX) until the CPU is stunned/dead.
CPU akuma, just low block all day and look for chances to punish him. DP after blocking a tatsu, throw him after a blocked divekick that lands close, 1,2,3,geneijin when he whiffs a tatsu. stuff like that. :B
makoto karakusa loop doesn't seem to work for me. the cpu DP's me out of it most of the time. i get better results with this: mak fierce hayate, c.jab,c.jab, c.roundhouse, repeat.
KSK's Midnight Fighters Festival tournament finals: Nomoto(GO), Aruka(IB), Tokido(CH) vs Onoda(EL), Momochi(YU), KO(YA)
I read on SRK that KSK's changing his ranbat rules after 9/15. The new rules are something like 1) No Chun or Yun 2) Everyone must switch characters after every match.
This has got to bring some entertaining matches =P (or it could just be Kens owning everyone)
I went to the arcade the other day: I walked in and these two guys were playing 3s (Ken vs Yun). I saw Yun had perfected Ken 1st round and the 2nd round was pretty close. They were both down to maybe 1/10th life, Yun throws Ken into the corner, activates Geneijin, Ken's getting desparate, Ken does wake up Shippu, Yun parries the whole super and fucks Ken up. (<--- that wasn't a real sentence)
The Ken turns around and is like "wtf just happened O_O" to me, I'm like "lulz, good match", Yun turns around and is like "lol n00bs" to both of us.

Er, last time I read, it was still only under consideration, nothing was final... yea I just went and read it and there's nothing that declares the official rules as of now.
KSK asks for suggestions for the format rules, and pple give their suggestions in the comments.
I think my favourite Ken would have to be Deshiken. Daigo is always a crowd pleaser with his beasting, but Deshiken's reserved play has captured my heart! I want to be good with Yun, but I play on the PS2 version (Street Fighter Anniversary Collection). Until I buy a joystick, I will never be able to kara palm... ;_;

Damn, that'd be sick if they actually implemented it. The matches won't be as high quality but it'd be fun to watch, lol.
More of my arcade adventures: I went to the arcade again. It's dirt cheap!!! 25 cents a pop. I spent only like $.50 in 1/2 an hr (watching and playing). I almost beat a chun today, both low life, I had him in a geneijin combo in the corner and I fucked up (I suck on US sticks >_< ... actually I'm horrible on joysticks in general -.-z).
Got in contact with one of the guys from our arcade (before it closed down last month). He has 3s on a PS2, and with his friends' sticks we've got 2+ japanese sticks to play with. It's a lot different from the arcade (as the sticks are no longer mounted a fixed cabinet) and takes some time getting used to. But it's a lot of fun . Last week him and I played 3s for 7 hours straight, then stopped to have dinner at 10:30 pm . Last Friday we played again with a couple of other people. He's very good: I can't get a single bo5 win against his Chun or Ken, and win about 15% of the time against his Yun (he's only "learning" Yun right now, which is why I can still beat him ).
By the way, his name is Yang and he has a friend named Chun who also plays 3s .
Someone lent me a great quality japanese stick, but I need a PS2-to-USB converter to be able to practice with it on MAME =/.

I really hope they hold at least a few tournies like that. I'd produce great vids, I think .
Your arcade experience reminds me of what it used to be like at our Campus arcade. 25 cents per game, bo5, lots of guys hanging around playing. Good times.
But now I've learned that the 25 cents per game thing was probably a mistake. And that might have contributed to the arcade going out of business T___T.
I haven't been playing lately (got that broodwar addiction again atm). I started making some training basic combo vids for Akuma and I planned on making them into 1 video with button presses and slowed down etc and music overlayed.
Some of the combos are hard to reproduce but you can actually do in a real match. Like FJ.HK-Tatsu hit them with 2 of the kicks, then UJ.HK-Tatsu, land and HP-SHoryu. It looks really nice, but I keep fucking it up and throwing Hadou or missing the UJ Tatsu. Or even like LK-Demon/dive, LK, MK-Demon/Throw.
I also need to have someone press jump and shit so I can start some of the other advanced air/juggle combos. I am also aware that every character has different hit boxes but I'm using Hugo as the dummy.
I'm glad everyone's getting their 3s fix now =P. I hope the arcade doesn't close down, it's run by the university, so I don't think they'll just shut it down.

training with hugo = terrible idea >__<. Just use a dougi character (ryu, ken, gouki) for standard stuff.
To borrow the words of Pierre, "My favorite word is consistency". Fancy combos wont mean anything if you dont have 90%+ success rate with them.
Its only like 4 pages, I skimmed through it. Basically the guy who stole the jacket got scared and said he'd call the cops then the owner said go ahead you're the thief and that he would also rat out him for drugs and other shit on top of that. So he finally admitted guilt and gave up the jacket to the guy who has his sunglasses. The guy with the sunglasses (who is being the medium for conversation) is planning to return everything. The 50 bucks is forgotten because the guy he bought the debt up from already evened it up. Its not worth reading imo. They're all a bunch of pussies if you ask me.
the last thing I'd be scared of is some video game player i would be scared of someone turning me in for drugs and stuff like that though someone telling the cops doesn't mean anything will happen
