Actually from my impression most of the SF scene are wanna be gangster types , so naturally they are not nerdy looking or skinny.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

I was pleasantly surprised to see Sextaro win vs Tokido .

I should see if one of Yang's friends can record one of our games. Then I can upload it if anyone wants to see me getting owned by him . (or maybe I'll do like StarCraft and save it only when I win ) Maybe if I do something cool with SA3 Makoto, I'll at least try to save the replay for later ^^;;.

On the plus side, with all the practice I've gotten over the last few days, for a while I was hit-confirming low-forward-super with Ken pretty consistently :O (but not today). Mass gaming in 3s versus better opponents helps a lot, just like mass gaming in StarCraft. And there's the added benefit of 3s games lasting ~2 minutes rather than ~20 minutes.

If other people here posted some videos of themselves playing other competition (preferably not online and not against the CPU: I'm talking real man-to-man 3s ^^) then I'd take a look for sure .

I'm gonna see if I can get some matches up. If I do get any, they'd be from my cellphone, so don't expect some HD shit =P.

I got completely dominated the other day, I went something like 0-8 against this guy. Yun vs Yun and Yun vs Necro. I managed to get 1 round the whole time (he was beasting through everyone else there as well, we were just taking turns losing to him basically). Yun vs Yun is so hard, I hate it lol. This is what happens when you're the only Yun player in your group of friends. I've never played against a good necro before, and he just tore me up like crazy in the corner. Getting stunned after like 2 combos totally blows =(.

Wow, pretty amazing games

Has anyone here played Garou: Mark of the Wolves? It's pretty similar, not as good as Fatal Fury 3 but also lots of fun! I wonder if there's a pro-gaming scene? Here's a clip of me and my mate just being idiots and testing recording software, we're pretty crap (just started playing it):

But anyhow, the pro-gamers are the best to watch:

Wow, you guys are really bad =P

I love MotW, it's one of my favorite fighting games. I believe it's called Fatal Fury 4 in Japan. Chances are you won't get any good Garou competition in the US, however. In Socal there's an SNK scene but otherwise there's not much you can do except Kaillera (there was another online client called Poporu and it was great, but it's dead now =().

Here are some good MotW matches:
+ Show Spoiler +

It is said that those 4 matches were scripted matches using macros to show the game "at its highest level", but there are many tournament players who can come close to what those matches look like.

For real tournament matches, check out http://www.youtube.com/user/JaimeDL

Thanks for that! I can't say I think much of the scripted matches (I hate Gato)! But the tournaments you linked too were amazing! Can't believe the amount of dashing + Show Spoiler +
... Also, you gotta wonder why anyone would set their top to anywhere but the top of the life bar? 'Cos then if you're careful you get maximum damage throughout the entire game.

Sorry for hijacking the SF3 thread... I'm unable to post new topics at the moment!

TOP placement depends on the character and personal preference. Some people like putting top at the end of the bar so in a close match they are regening life and doing more damage (taking less as well) while their opponent isn't. Putting top at the end can also net you some comebacks. Putting TOP in the middle is the most common I think, you can afford to make some mistakes and you'll still have your TOP.

Getting hit into TOP during a combo also changes the timing of the combo ever so slightly, I can't count how many times my opponent's TOP activating has fucked up one of my combos.

well tokido is the best player who plays at vision on a regular basis so no surprises there, really.

Both his ken and urien are beastly as well, if you watch the ranbats from the past few weeks (i can get you think links if you're interested in seeing him play his sub characters)

New Gamers Vision Ranbat: 7-2. It looks like some people tried out the new no-Yun-no-Chun rules, starting in the round of 4. (I think there was also a rule about not picking your main?)

Top 8 players:
Ma Junior CH vs Kei YA
Pierre UR vs Kiseki KE
Tokido CH vs AFM CH
Wata KE vs Ochibi YU

7-2 round of 8:

nop, not rules.

It's just that pierre, as he sometimes does, picked his sub characters in order to avoid matchups, then tokido just totally humiliated him with his former main character lol.

Nothing was arranged, from what I remember (it's been like 2 weeks since I watched it so).

Nice finish in the final Urien Vs Chun vid.

Even if I understood Japanese(?) that commentator would annoy the fuck out me. Is that a girl or a guy?

I fucking hate that MC. >__<

That's the first time I actually muted a ranbat from Vision actually.

His ID is Tsuno-Kyou, a Tekken player/MC.

He was the announcer for SBO 2006 Tekken, and apparently did a fucking horrendous and disgraceful job at it, with way too much offtopic shit while the game is being played, (which he does in this video too i think) had an incredible amount of bias, and was calling the korean tekken player who won the whole thing "Korea" "Korea" instead of his name or ID. All the players thought "what the hell" during this as well.

I dont even know much about the guy and I still despise him.

edit: wait I need to confirm that it's the same guy... w/e I hate this guy anyways.
