I wonder if Blizz is going to fix the potential exploits that were discovered and theorized about in this video, like legendary feeding etc.

Not only I want to actually use some vacation for once but also I want to wait out for the first batch of patches and hype to maybe die down a bit as I don't want to be bothered with queues and such when I have absolutely no interest in using the multiplayer features of the game. yeah I'm also waiting a month. Though for me it's moreso waiting for endgame reviews, along with dodging queue and early stability issues I'm a bit worried nightmare dungeons will be dull re-hashes of campaign dungeons. I'm not super convinced by that interview where they tried to assuage those concerns. I know there will be map affixs and what not, but I'd need something more than just difficulty mods

Hope I'm wrong though. Microtransactions hello? I dabbled a bit with the Druid and with a werwolf/ werbear build the very first storyboss (lvl 5) was unsolvable while with every other option (lightning/ rocks/ wind) it was a breeze. Trade-off melee vs ranged is huuuuuuuuuuge. It's not just the Barbarian that sucks, it's melee

First boss, range was the smart play. But get to Level 9+ and Bear is such a solid choice for dealing with tons of aggro or participating in public events. I’ve really enjoyed to versatility of the Druid. Reminds me of my old WoW days.

Purgatory basically. Same, lol. I started a sorc today and rushed through the story to compare the power level (barb vs sorc) vs the final boss und yeah, it was an absolute cakewalk on sorc... The power level is off the charts. You just spec into random stuff and do massive damage to everything, lol.

Overall grade of the Beta.... B- tbh. The positives: World artwork, Sound design, Voice acting is top notch (Ralph Ineson especially. Here's hoping he becomes a main char throughout the game). Middle of the road: Balance... something will need to be done with Melee chars. Give them passive defense against stuns and other CC that bosses use, I honestly don't know. Sorc > Necro > Rogue > Barb > Druid all in that order from most powerful to weakest. Druid is especially horrible. I'm really hoping that mobs don't scale with your char and that it was for the beta. In a live game it will be just lazy design tbh. The bad: The UI is horrible... at the very least there should be 9-10 slots for the action bar. Not 6 with two being for the left and right mouse clicks. Dumb. That's not even considering your Chars ultimate that needs a slot as well, which should not be the case. At this time there are 3 slots for skills.... why? Stats on items need to be fixed/adjusted as well.

So, I'm kinda waiting to see what the D4 will look like upon release and initial round of stability and balance patches. Then I'll play through, doing 100% map completion if possible on normal/veteran and if it's good I'll give it a go at higher difficulties. Not interested in the "end game" at all, for me that'll be 100% clearing the game on max difficulty, don't care about any potential rifts and such. Yay another LE fan, imo still the best ARPG currently playable. Tbf I haven't played LA, so no idea how it compares. Overall I prefer the grimness of D4 and LE has some problems in terms of storytelling in general imo, but at least in terms of skilltree depth I vastly prefer LE so far. The main gameplay loop is pretty similar even for ARPGs. On March 28 2023 05:04 {CC}StealthBlue wrote: Was basically stuck in the bottom two floors of the dungeon. Stats on items need to be fixed as well. Pretty much agree on all of this, especially bossfights are so much easier as a ranged class. If the mob isn't dead int he first 30 seconds as a melee you're in a world of hurt because these random ass swings will whittle you down even if you are very good at dancing around all the other random shit and aoes flying your way. My main worry rn are skilltree-depth and monetization though. I played my rogue to 25 and tbh I could maybe spend 10 more points meaningfully, that's still 15 left till Paragon that would probably go into the very boring +3% damage passives and not really feel like level-ups and there's no telling how interesting Paragon levels are. I agree that I feel skill slot starved and it really limits options because a lot of the time it's less about comboing stuff that's supposed to combo and more 'have a bunch of skills that blow up hordes and have a bunch of skills that kill elites'. Low number of slots works in LE where every skill has a skilltree and can be heavily customized, but in D4 it just feels like I constantly want more options and can't have them. This harms especially CCs that are both entirely useless in boss fights and don't benefit as much from a higher point investment on average. Balancing is another issue, especially on the skills that are mechanically weak. Like why would I incinerate when I can just deal more damage in less time with the ice shards while staying mobile? And don't get me started on charged bolt. I'm somewhat positive that balance will get mostly fixed eventually though, but at times the numbers are just asinine.
