I would agree with you if this was a random youtube comment section. Here I feel like if people say they wait, they probably will.
Basically if they can keep their grubby little paws off the 'MONETIZE HARDER" button, it just *might* be a good game. But don't believe the pre-release reviews because they've already "optimized" monetization in the past (D Immortal) between the copies they sent out to reviewers and the full release version available to the general public on day 1.
The logic of this video is nonexistent. Sure, Blizzard could be lying about monetization in Diablo IV, but Diablo Immortal doesn't prove that. There isn't a logical connection made for why we should keep Diablo Immortal in mind when thinking about Diablo IV except lawl don't trust Blizzard.
And since when is 1080p low quality? This is the first time I have ever heard anyone say that 1080p is, essentially, trash. Stuff like this makes me question the worth of the uploader's opinions.

Haven't watched the video but the connection probably is: Blizzard lied about p2w in Immoral, why would I trust their word now? Which is reasonable. If someone has been caught lying in this fashion it's better to wait and see for yourself instead of trusting their word.
I think there is only personal loot. You can't even see the loot of the other person iirc. There is no way Blizzard would go for ffa style looting in this day and age.

That's one of the few real grimes I have with d2, managing loot distribution is beyond annoying.

1080p is fairly low if you want to judge how good a game looks, especially with an isometric look where the devil is definitely in the details. Imo in his video the game looks good, but not that different from PoE or D2R.
Diablo Immortal (and to a lesser extent Overwatch 2) showed that they very much are willing to monetize PC releases to a level that is already very greedy by mobile market standards. In general Blizz went from a company that values product quality and PvP fairness to a company that monetizes every aspect of their game and most of their recent releases are about milking their players as much as providing a fun game, so any trust that that won't be the case for their next release needs to be earned.

Depends on what you want to do and what you want to play. I played through the base game and it was fine. But lategame and PvP are entirely pay2win. Lategame is also pretty boring btw.

In PoE the party leader can toggle locked, semi-locked or ffa. I think that's a good system for an arpg.

It's also pay to not be annoyed. A friend of mine tried to do a dungeon a bit above his level to challenge himself and got greated by a shop window he couldn't close so he played the whole dungeon with the window covering the middle of his screen. Fantastic game design.

i hope the areas and monsters from d2 and even d3 make an appearance again in d4. it doesnt make sense that an open world in the world of diablo doesnt let you go back to places like pandemonium keep or the rogue encampment. tristram is kind of cliche now but it would still be good to see tristram again too

wait a year... if people like the game... then buy it. You can probably pick it up for half the price as well. I do this strat with most games.
A small pet peeve of mine: Each character skill apparently has two upgrade options or something, and the names are SUPER lazy. For example, the Rogue's Flurry upgrades are called Improved Flurry and Advanced Flurry, neither of which help explain anything and they're just synonyms.
Also, so many add/multiply percentages to base weapons, a lot of which isn't clearly explained. I'd much rather see real damage numbers, generally independent from the weapons.
Thanks for linking that. I watched the Sorceress deep drive but honestly wasn't very impressed at all. As you say, the naming is really uninspired for a lot of it. Actually, no aspect of the Sorceress spells really feels inspiring. I'm not sure if it's the less exaggerated graphics compared to D1/D2, but none of the provided previews really felt like a meaty, important cast. Additionally, tacking all these incremental bonuses onto skills only removes the spotlight from the skill itself. Most of the bonuses aren't the fun kind where one can feel like they're making meaningful, build-defining choices, either. It'll be like "something happens 15% of the time". Some skills literally have a small % chance of triggering off a crit, which either means the chance will be vanishingly small or crits will become meaningless because all builds will be chasing 100% crit rate.
I don't know, I doubt say D2's skills sound very interesting all plastered up onto a webpage either so it may not be a fair comparison. What I think is pretty hard to argue is that when your build's performance depends critically on a bunch of small incremental selections that don't play together in obvious ways, there's no longer any "roleplay" reason to pick one build over another, so everyone just looks up the best build.
Making teleport into a lightning charge is kinda cool, I guess. And burning and chilled/frozen should be quite visually clear and visceral things that make sense for other skills to work off of so they have some potential for cool things.
