A game that old sold at a non-bargain basement price shouldn't be freezing at all.
I don't think adding the ability to save at will is all that satisfactory a solution, because some games of that era are somewhat balanced and built around restricted saving.
Not to say that such points are pretty optimally spaced or anything. I'm also pretty biased but I lack the self control to resist save-scumming frequently, so it's nice being forced into not doing it.
I'm a huge fan of save scumming and fast forwarding nowadays. Don't have the patience to sit through a 10 minute unskippable cutscene into a gimmicky boss fight anymore. I still remember there was this one fight in FF10 over 15 years ago that pissed me off because of that.
I know that FF7-10 are regarded as classics. But I'm personally not too fond of them because I think Square went overboard in making over long cutscenes and over long animations. I actually played FF9 very recently. My hours played to finish it was much shorter compared to more modern JRPGs like Persona 5, Octopath Traveler and Legend of Heroes:Trails of Cold Steel. FF9 just felt longer.

Yeah unskippable cutscenes are silly, agreed there.
I still like my arbitrary staggered saves though, where you have to beat a full hour or so without fucking up, but cutscenes you can’t bypass are silly.

does the switch version of FF7 not include the QOL features that were introduced for the steam and ps4 version aka up to 8x speed and other things?

I personally enjoy dipping in a lot. Granted I don't have it on other platforms or anything, but it runs smoothly and you have that Switch benefits of portability etc

There seem to be 3 features, each of which you can toggle on or off: 1. Can change the speed of everything (movement, text speed, battles) from Normal to x3 Speed; 2. Can turn off random encounters/ wild battles; 3. Can make you essentially invincible during battle (your HP and MP and Limit meter get 100% replenished after every single hit you take from an opponent... I haven't been one-shotted yet but I assume you don't die/ stay dead).
Obviously, choosing to turn on some of these makes the game muuuuch faster. After my game froze and I had to redo a lot of work, I just skipped it all with these cheats because I wanted to make sure the game could eventually save (it seems to be working now), but now I feel like the experience is cheapened because I have to choose between playing the game fairly and possibly not having that hard work end up saving if the game freezes.
how is diablo3 on nintendo switch? are there many players online (public games)? Or it's better not to play online (like ps4 because of cheated items and paragonlevels)?

I save after every time consuming segment I don't care to repeat. Occasionally, I create a separate save file after a huge info dump/conversation segment/cutscene so I can watch it again later but I'd really rather not watch it again immediately just because I died afterwards.
Anyone well-versed in tournament rules for smash bros? Specifically to how players pick character before/during stage pick/ban sequence.
Basically u Rock Paper Scissors first to see who strikes for a 1-2-1 ban on 5 starting stages. Then u both pick characters.
What I can’t seem to find out is how ur supposed to pick characters fairly during banning stage phase. I typically thought u just pre-pick your characters (without ur opp knowing) via writing it in ur phone etc, then finish up stage ban phase then reveal char ur showing ur phone.
But how my local does it is they announce chars by verbally saying it same time before ban/pick stage phase.
I got into a small argument with my opp over which way was best. And we eventually did it the verbal way before stage picks.
I just want a better opinion. I tried searching for official rules but can’t find any that answers my question.

Don't know but you often see pros counter pick their opponent since most people main one character. So then it can't really be pre-set. Switching mid-series happens.
Just read a theory where Ganondorf was a chosen knight 10,000 years ago to seal Ganon in botw lore. And that his body was the vessel that sealed ”evil ganon” the entire time. Holy fuck.
Also if u listen to the botw2 trailer in reverse u can kinda hear Ganon theme for a bit.
Jesus Christ, Nintendo. Stop making my grown-up self so goddamn excited like a kid again.
Since it hasn't been mentioned here yet and it's a bit of a big deal in the community, pokemon not in Galar's regional dex won't be able to be transferred to Sword and Shield.
