Gaiden's always been the least interesting of the old FE games to me, but I'm going to buy it because I never bothered with the NES version.

And I want them to do a Genealogy remake really, really badly.

To be fair I'm likely much less of a fan of FE than all of you guys :D. I view it as my tactical RPG fix on handheld when SquareEnix decided FFT wasn't worth developing anymore. I didn't play the old FEs in Japanese on emulators or anything like that.

But it just seems logical to me that the interest in buying 3DS games will wane as the Switch starts replacing it.

I didn't get Radiant Dawn because I saw that there were no support convos... seems like a silly reason now, but now my Wii is busted and idk how I'm going to play it
Can someone please explain/how water falls with no rain?

I am pretty sure there are support convos in Radiant Dawn. They aren't like the current ones where you gain more advantages with characters being paired up, but you get items and more back story (especially on some characters).

You also can play RD + Show Spoiler +
on the dolphin emulator for wii. At your own risk since emulator stuff blah blah. I have it on both my wii and my laptop. Be mindful though that it takes a pretty decent computer to play it without it being sluggish.


I am hoping they put out some characters from PoR and RD (I am not a big fan of sanaki). I want to see a Mia, Ike, Shinon, and some others.

There are no support conversations in base when you assign/upgrade a support, but newly supported units get some 'battlefield conversation' which is incredibly generic and the main reason why people bitch about support convos in RD.

To be fair, there's 73 characters and everyone can support everyone, so I forgive the devs for not writing ~15,000 specific support dialogues.

Also they do give bonuses, and each character has an affinity which determines the bonus stats they give to their support. Items and back story are obtained through "base conversations" which is something else.

And yeah Dolphin is the way to go if you don't own a copy, buying a copy online is gonna cost 100+ dollars.

Honestly base conversations are a much more organic means of writing character dialogue anyway. GBA/3DSFE style support conversations suffer serious timing issues relative to the main plot and other supports, which limits your ability to develop substantive issues through them.

Dang that's expensive. I've never used an emulator (can you tell? ) but maybe that is the route I will go since I have neither the game nor a functioning Wii.

I'd like it if I could carry my PoR stats into RD but I guess you've got to make do with what you have...

I hadn't used one until a couple of months ago when I wanted to play PoR, it's surprisingly easy

The graphics are the same. The character sprites have more color contrast and a dark outline that makes them appear more pixelated but also pop more from the background. The 3D terrain looks largely the same.

They probably chose to change up the sprites because they don't need to accomodate reclassing. Other than villagers, everyone is in fixed class lines, so they don't need to have generic sprites that accomodate every character potentially being in any class. As such, we can see characters with more individualized sprites rather than a head stuck on a generic class sprite (e.g. Mae and Boey's sprites look drastically different despite them both being in the same class). Hopefully this also carries over to character models as well.

Yeah it's the sprites that had me seriously consider whether this was the original or the remake. Clearly there's a 2-screen setup and the other graphics make it obvious it's the 3DS game, but those sprites....

I guess the image is enlarged as well so the pixels are more noticeable

I'm more interested to see whether the villagers keep their unique color palettes through promotions or if they get stuck with an ugly generic blue again.

Some of the gameplay footage with Cavalier Faye seems to suggest unique color palettes but that might also just be her "default" promotion so it's hard to say.

Boat maps are going to be sick. Yango you need to force your enthusiasm.

I don't really care about how they do support conversations as long as I find them interesting. Reading about someone sucking as a painter gets a little uninteresting when everyone talks about it.

If Person A has that quality, then I don't think Person A and Person B should talk about that trait if Person A and Person C already covered. Person A and Person B should talk about why boat maps are going to great.

For the mobile players how did u guys beat the very last mission in story mode like what comps did u use im having a ton of trouble with it
