The game is going to be fun and while the graphics don't look amazing I'm sure there will be mods for that. Something we can't tell from a three minute trailer. Why don't we actually wait for a release before we start calling the game fun? Fun is pretty subjective and I am pretty sure it will be fun for a lot of people. These are the people who made Skyrim and that game was pretty fun.
Fun is subjective to a degree but most people can objectively tell that a game has badly-animated characters and dated graphics. And from the trailer it looks like Bethesda hasn't kept up with the industry standard at all. Ontop of the inevitable bugs-riddle release (I mean, it is Bethesda we are talking about here, I don't think they know what a beta test even is judging from their track record) Fallout4 is bound to disappoint a lot of people.
Hopefully this trailer is just an early development footage.

that dog needs some NVIDIA HairWorks /s
It's disappointing that there's basically no new gameplay elements on display other than maybe that airship thing.
Could have basically been a trailer for an ambitious FO3 mod/xpac

And the prophet like prediction that a lot of people will be disappointed with a AAA release. Because that hasn't happened before.

not if Bethesda and Valve both go full spectrum autism and implement their paid mods idea after "reworking" it.

Already hating. Seriously, fuck bitchsoft for destroying the IP. They clearly showed that they have no idea what Fallout was about in F3. New Vegas got into better hands and it was way better, but still nowhere near Fallout 1 and 2. And now we will have Skyrim With Guns, yay.
I still replay Fallout 2 almost every year. Didn't touch the awfulness which is Fallout 3 since the release, when I had to review that game.
Van Buren was the true Fallout 3.
And I know my opinion is not popular, don't give a damn. Even Fallout Tactics was more "falloutish" than whatever bitchsoft has done or will do.

If the "classic" mode makes it into the game. Holy fucking shit monkey balls...
|
Cant help but be underhyped for this after playing witcher 3. Witcher 3 is just so superior to FO3/NV/Skyrim in every way. The shit looking graphics can be solved through mods, but not the rest of the game
Still, its one of my favourite franchises so i am excited for it.

melee combat is just impossible and awkward when done in first person pov.

Also can't believe people are complaining about graphics.. I feel old.

Then again, it's probably the dog's fault. Quite frankly lot of old fans of Fallout as well as RPG enthusiasts felt very let-down from Fo3 and Skyrim so they expect the same from Fo4. We don't know about the actual game other than a three minute trailer but graphically things aren't even that impressive so that doesn't help when people are nitpicking every detail to criticize the game. If it took you until FO3/Skyrim to be disappointed in a Bethesda game, you either didn't play Oblivion, or were exceptionally forgiving for it.
Skyrim relatively speaking is a significant step up from Oblivion/FO3.

Of course, if TES has "never disappointed you", I'm going to come right out and say I think you have shit taste in video games, because even diehard TES fans accept how much of a low point Oblivion was for the series, lol.

All these Playstation generation kids complaining about graphics. I remember when i could literally see the pixels and still had the ability to enjoy the game if it had a good story and mechanics

Even at it's absolute best in a game like Morrowind, Bethesda's strength is world-building, not storytelling and game mechanics. Post-Oblivion Bethesda writing has always been comically bad, and even in Morrowind, it was largely quantity over quality.
I've always held the position that Bethesda's games are 1st person exploration games, not RPGs. The strength and focus of their titles is largely in exploring the worlds they've built--the storytelling and character-building elements tend to be relatively weak compared to other exemplary titles in the genre.

We should still do NES kind of graphics !! No, better than that, why not we kept the graphics just like those old adventure games ?
Come on, thats one terrible argument, the power is there, USE IT.

Good graphics enhance a good game, and do make a game better. But they do not on their own make a game good, nor are good graphics a requirement for a game to be good.

some of the most-played games have intentionally bad graphics though like Minecraft and LoL.

The correlation between graphics and fun is exactly 0
Many games are absolutely amazing and have shit graphics.
Countless games have amazing graphics and are utter shit.

Do we know what the game engine's gonna be for this? I'm mainly asking from the point of view of a guy with a budget PC that might or might not buy this.

trailer simply lacks any ambition (not just graphically, which is whatever)
