As stated before, it is possible to find 200 yo nuked wooden buildings in FO3 & NV as well. I guess bethesda deliberately avoid making a story line close to actual war since they'll fuck up deeper than they already did in terms of story telling and such. It might be a good thing though, they ruin the franchise a lot less and it is still possible to re-initiate a better closer story when they sell the rights for future(%0 but one can only hope).

Their game are for tools. The most hilarious tool is the guy above that mentions name Fallout but ignores F1 and F2 which are the games that set the lore and the world. Fo3 and Fo4 are like hilariously bad fan made stories. Calling people tools for liking a game that you don't like. Classic.
Loving it so far. Always a big fan of sitting down with a cup of coffee and just exploring. The combat feels way better this time around

Tribalism and shitting on something that is popular is a hell of a drug.

So I've been playing for idk about 10hrs. I think that the game is amazing. I'm playing whenever I get a chance. The graphics kick ass, the crafting system is sick, the workshop player housing is the best thing ever. 10/10 I'm hoping that I'm gonna like the main storyline once I get through.
Just gotta go and figure out how the electricity system works, gotta install the tv set for my peeps.

Just a generator, and some power pylons if needed - go into buildmode, press space on the generator, and then space on the TV.
And lol about those people who come into threads and tell others what is a good game and what isn't. Fallout 1 and 2 set the lore, yup. That's it. Everything after is actually true to the lore, so i don't really get that comparison - but hey, how about you go into the steam forums, and whine with all the other kids there.

Oh snap! Thanks man. I've tried installing generator(I got the medium one with 5 electricty ) and installing pylon and the tv next to each other but I didn't know that I needed to click space.

you can run lines from your generator/pylons by pressing space on them

You are allowed to have whatever opinion you would like, but to the outside world you look like an ignorant ass for making such assumptions about both a game that I would assume, given your sweeping generalizations, that you have not played as well as every person who plays those games. You take it upon yourself to crusade, shouting into the blackness as if your one voice will open up people's eyes and realize that they are wrong in every way that they disagree with you; perhaps you see yourself as some infallible genius who, repeating endlessly the chant you heard sweeping across the internet, is now above the normal man because you were quick to drink the kool-aid.
In reality, when you say such asinine baseless things, people see you as a disabused child crying for his bottle because he doesn't have the new shiny toy, so he wants no one to have it. You look, frankly, like a joke; a sad, sad little man too ignorant to bother speaking properly, and thus quickly ignored. If you have an actual argument to make, and want to be heard, take the time to speak to specific points and not just flame everyone with ignorant generalizations. Your opinion is valid, as are all opinions, but don't be so quick to speak it without taking the time to think if the impression you are giving is really the one you want. 'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.'

It wouldn't be a thread of a game series I feel is turning to shit without plansix making vague posts defending the company in a vaguely superior way.
Can't wait for the mods to come out, that way the real gameplay can happen! Playing as ironman through a post apocalyptic world where all the enemies are characters from my little pony or some random meme is great, as is ultra hd cartoon tits.

What a wall of meaningless text, he is fucking allowed to have whatever oppinion he wants about this game or people that play it as long as it have any kind of logic reasoning behind.
I can go about it the other way "i've spend 60 bucks for a game so i will rationalise the reasoning behind it and find so much awesomness in mediocrity". (not telling that's the case here with F4, just example).
Played 2-3h so far, i hate the UI, it's atrocious it's actually so fucking bad i cringe. Loled about the fact that i have to actually unplugg my ps3 pad to be able to play it with K&M, textures in this game are uhm, yeah, lets wait for mods/hi res tex pack like with Skyrim. Performance is also way off from where it should be considering how so mediocre this game is looking (and it also makes me worried how will it run when i heavily mod it).
Positives - well, it's Fallout and combat seems to be actually better than in Skyrim and previous Fallouts. Game also haven't crashed on me during 2-3h of gameplay, thats a new one for Beth.

Yeah, as i said, the tutoring in the game is quite bad. We bought the "Vault Dwellers Survival Guide, Collectors Edition" - 540 pages of "wait, that's how it works?". :D
