It would most likely require valve to have seriously fucked up and let the client handle stuff that should be handled by the server. Not that I would put that past them, but I just hope this isnt the case... Brings back dark memories of a game I used to play pretty much t top level where the anti cheat was almost worthless so banning by manual demoreview was the only real thing. Unfortunately the replay-system was absolute shit aswell. A bunch of very high caliber players including me got banned all of a sudden because of manual review, I looked into it and after 1 1/2 week of dedicated work I was able to present the GMs with a proof of concept programm which allowed me to manipulate replays so it looked like you where cheating so they had to ditch manual banning as well to some degree. After a month of looking deeper into it and how shit the game coding really was, I was even able to manipulate other player in game. Talked about it with the GMs apparently there was a leak and a few month later the developers finally had to make serious changes to their game since even kiddies had now access to tools like mine. Of course valve is more competent then that but still. If there really is an anti-overwatch hack either they have really fucked up or they slightly fucked up and someone put alarming efforts into it. Easiest way to go about it would be corrupting the demo, depending on how they are recorded but since they always seem to work for me it can't be that.
I know two players who used it. I know a open bypass that got fixed after some month. And I know there are hidden undetected bypasses that not fixed. One is the redirection of the report onto another player. Its really funny to report someone just to see that you reportet yourself.

great, so they really fucked up. Thx valve, I expected after 2 and a half cs you would have learned...

To state it correct: Ive seen this happening twice over arround 1.000 MM games in 1 1/2 years. Once early 2016 it got directed on myself and myfriend who called out the hacker in open chat. And once where the report ran into the void and showed that you reported the person you reported but his name was missspelled in the report sheet by one letter.
It is extrem rare and not public. Valve would fix it pretty fast and from the boards I read alot of people seem to know about it but do not get it. The public ones have been fixed.

Ko1n (KevinS) stated that he is allready playing on ESEA again with his very own cheat (project cocaine) without getting banned by the AC, hinting that he has been manually banned and not by the AC.

Well I just read "kennyS" and was flipping out for a second.

This fucking bug still exists for me where I'm trying to play an MM game for hours and it will continuously take like 3-4 minutes despite D2 etc. being in the queue and then tell me I didn't accept a match although I never got the accept button.
Again, the reason I doubt the netcode quality is because of shit like that. If I can't even connect to the Valve dedicated servers, honestly who the fuck knows what else is going wrong. I'm on decent 25/10 VDSL btw, wired.
|
Yep, played one game after an hour of queuing on D2 just now and afterwards I'm back to the same bug. Minute-long waits, no accept button and then I get booting for not accepting a match.
This is utterly atrocious. How the fuck can they have servers this bad nowadays. A simple fucking handshake that has 3 minutes to work fails. At some point Valve should just be sued for the shit they pull on us.

Or you know, they anticipated and the ToS probably prevent that.

I know it's not realistic to sue Valve over their server neglect unfortunately.
Yeah that's it, found another random MM match after 30 minutes of trying but at this rate it's not worth it. I don't want to play FaceIT etc. until I'm a little more 'back' but Valve MM flat out doesn't work 9 out of 10 times (and when I get a game I have horrible hit reg btw). Really annoyed by the consistency of this issue.

I wait everytime I queue up a MM game for 10-20 minutes because of this bullshit. And you cant even tab out properly because there is no audio signal when it aborts the search. And I have Dust on my maplist...
|
Wait you also get no accept button? I didn't know I wasn't the only one haha. Usually I'm so worn out after 30 min of queue time and staring at the same screen I can't even play properly when I find a game finally. I already adjusted my mm_search_dedicated_maxping or whatever it's called btw, that's not the issue.

Yeah I have it every time.

I get this "no accept"-bug pretty often, but not after a long search. I never search with Dust_II and ususally it takes 1 Minute to tell me that I didnt accept it. When I am in a lobby, it always say i did not accept (while nobody saw a accept button). But these long search times, never seen them. I guess, swap to FaceIt?

For me it's really really bad, last night I could play no more than 2 games of MM and that was with 2-3 hours of trying and consistently queueing. And it's been like that for WEEKS for me. Literally unplayable (for once actually literally haha).
So that's three people here in a very small sample size from Germany on TL.net that seem to have, ranging from some to extreme (in my case and Yrr's), problems to even connect to Valve MM servers to use the services we pay(ed) for. Why the fuck did I buy the operation when I can't even get what I payed for...

For me this issue can be resolved by recreating a new lobby. When the text in the top right says confirming match for longer than a couple seconds the lobby is usually bugged.
I suspect this behaviour is connected to low max ping requirements and ip-blocking specific servers (like the russian one) via firewall. If you soloQ a lot, this is non optional because noone likes to play with 4 cykas. Checking your config/firewall preferances can't hurt.
I play GN levels on MM and i usually dont wait longer than a minute for dust/mirage/cache. Never had the bug twice in a row either
|
I think that's a different issue. I'm not stuck on "Confirming Match" (although I've also had that bug in the past a lot) but just in the queue until it boots me for not accepting. I'll still give your idea a try and see if starting a lobby and then requeing helps maybe. My firewall is on default settings, not blocking anything and I also don't have any other server region IP blockers active or anything. And it's not my max ping setting either because I've adjusted that up and down and it doesn't help. And it IS finding me games after all, it's just that the Accept button doesn't show up.

Honestly, go Faceit if you want an MM like thing.

Faceit usually takes under a minute to 2 minutes, depending on Time and if all players accept or you have to watch 45 secs go away because someone is afk searching.
You should just go and play unranked FaceIt till you are "a little more back".
