Wasn't this basically what WC3 was though? RTS without the extensive base-building, build orders, grand strategy etc? These guys are so clueless. Only a 50% sale or more will save it.
I guess they gave up on game's MP and are just trying to milk the SP population if possible. I bet most players don't even notice this free DLC and go buy it later.

Wc3 also contain 3 things you may not want in an RTS:
(1) Super slow, both in terms of damage output, movement and unresponsive units.
(2) Focussed on ability spamming.
(3) Low army sizes

That `most recent replay` feature is very well done. Overall the games feels and looks a lot more polished now!
And the DLC missions are not bad either.
I see no reason to complain about the game at its current state.
Dl`ed some reps of goo players and i`m quite confident to join the 1v1 section soon :D
In one of those replays i saw a very agressive goo (goo v. goo) player and very heavy map abuse. But it was cool to see. He knew what he did.

Dedicated servers - Replays - Observer mode - new maps and some balance changes were released at the same time.
But yeah, a sale is needed.

And all of that is few months too late. There is nobody left to care now. Did the new maps replace the terrible old maps in ranked play?

Their priority is on selling DLC right now. I've seen this stuff before and it doesn't end well.

The DLC is free (for now) and it's a nice complement to the campaign that gives it a bit of the feel of the C&C "tactical" missions that the actual campaign lacked. Overall it's a good thing but not enough to revive the game.

Yea but it's not free tomorrow and it's not free unless you claim it by then(?). Neither of my friends who bought the game are gonna see it in time probably because they didn't check for updates on the main site or reddit for a week or two.

There would be no way to monetize really without months of work (and i think it's a bad business model for rts) but sharp discounts sure
mmo and rts games (that are not designed to be played for campaign and thrown away) are reliant on having a somewhat stable community so once the death spiral starts you need to take pretty quick and drastic action to stop -this- from happening.

It was -0.2% 2 days ago, and 0.2% yesterday. Doesn't mean much because the population is pretty small right now, but there's definitely a growth at the moment.
I can actually find games right now consistently within 1 minute. That matters more than where exactly the numbers are.

Did they fix the performance? I was not able to run it smoothly (despite running every game on ultra/max except Grey Goo).

Just updated GG a few days ago and theres another 5.5 gig update when theres no players? I'm assuming this is an update for the campaign missions people are speaking about, which seems really random and a bad business move lol
EDIT : Another HUGE update and still UNABLE to find game in ranked or UNRANKED.......SO SAD!!! >_< T_T .... Let The people in this thread be the new GG team to save this game T_t
edit 2 : just cried a little inside that I dl'ed 10 gigs of updates and can't even find 1 game lol

Well there is only 73 people playing and probably many of those are new players playing the campaign.
