Is he boring to play, underpowered, useless on most maps or something? he's the low skill ceiling character that only FPS noobs will touch he does make hilarious plays of the game though

But you really should just drop your level 1 turret as a distraction and armor up your team and use your first molten core for a level 3 turret. That way you lose your level 2 turret, but can drop a few level 1s in the first fight. While you make your team extremely tanky. And with your first molten core, you will be able to armor up everyone again. Most higher levels are just of the opinion that he has issues at the beginning of a match right now because of his scrap mechanic and thats opinion spread around so people prefer other heroes. Some play him though on the higher mmr region and do great work with him.

He's just not useful apart from the armor, and Symmetra does something very similar while being more useful on 1st cap points.

I mean there are a few spots where its impossible to go around Bastions shield, but at every other place if your team doesn't protect you your down before you know it. Same goes for the Turret. A few days ago Zaria was considered really bad, then people saw those games against the Blizzard devs and saw how strong she can be. Same goes for the Merci Lucio combo.

I think this will be a problem. Nothing really stands out.

Any decent tracer, junkrat, Pharah, should have no issues making a Trojborn absolutely worthless. I 100% guarantee you will never see him in competitive play. Its the same with Bastion... he is a powerhouse in low level games and he takes no skill to play...but in higher level games people are too good at flanking/killing him, and then the team just pushes in and wins before he can get re-setup in a decent position. Both are champs that are only good in pub stomping and low/mid level games, as any coordinated team will have no issues with either of them. And after several more days of play... Symmetra is still the worst support imo. Her teleporter is NEVER better than Lucio's speed buff and ability to heal his entire team, along with buff his entire team. Everytime someone locks this champion in on my team, I die a little inside. And TBH the biggest problem with Trojborn is that Bastion exists... Bastion is easier to play and fills the same role better. but neither will see competitive play as both are easily countered by decent players/teams who know how to coordinate, position, and make plays.

www.gameinformer.com Console release is all but confirmed. The price tag could be placeholder or 60$ minus base price in cosmetic stuff like the physical heroes release.

I think it's been discussed quite a bit here already, but from what I could see watching streams from the start, this would be a horrendously detrimental business model considering how important it is to be able to switch heroes mid game.

That would be straight up impossible, as Soniv said. That said, while I'm ok with this model, I really hope there's more to it before the release. $60 for just pure multiplayer is a hard bargain unless they add a lot more heroes and maps. This is Blizzard, though, so I would not be surprised if there was some sort of Single Player mode in the final game. Even if it's just a few missions for each character, to build the world and also teach you about their kits, that'd be pretty good in my book.

As a little "funny" side-story I remember watching TB and Jesse Cox and some girl on a show a couple of days ago. Both TB and Jesse argued that it had to be "it has to be F2P only way; people don't wanna pay for a multiplayer only FPS game these days". I argue TB went on an autopilot during that show instead of attempting to understand under which circumstanes F2P makes sense. Because during the same show they spend an hour praising everything about Overwatch. It was clear they absolutely loved the game and they are not alone. I can't remember the last time a game has received so much universal praise. It people are gonna pay $20+ for the game just to play it, then let them pay it. At least in the west, I am quite convinced that it is more profitable to make the game buy-to-play.

We will never see him in a serious competitive match...someone might troll pick him to style on a bad team or something... but he will not be a staple pick. He is too immobile, he has little to no playmaking ability, and his weaknesses are too big. The turret aims for you, shoots for you, kills for you your only job is to hide behind it holding down left click.

As a little "funny" side-story I remember watching TB and Jesse Cox and some girl on a show a couple of days ago. At least in the west, I am quite convinced that it is more profitable to make the game buy-to-play. If the normal game is $60 and it is only the mode we see now (i don't expect it, but it's all we got now for sure) i don't think people will be all over it tbh. I actually think f2p would make a lot of sense, TF2 is free to play, CSGO is basically free to play (if you buy it during steam sales) and all the other big pvp games are f2p as well. In the end it is all about the estimated playerbase and the microtransactions. Charging $60 for it makes it seem like they simply didn't figure out a good way to get money otherwise, which is concerning imo. edit: One big reason also could be that it will get released on consoles as well, kinda hard to justify a f2p system for pc that way (which would kinda imply that consoles are their main target, which would be :/ )
