(Smash liquipedia doesn't have a lot of player info yet) Fox and Falco play pretty much approach the game completely differently, though parts of their moveset are kind of similar and they are able to apply some similar techniques.
Really!? So based on the commentary sounds like fox is more aggressive and Falco more defensive usually? Or is it more than that?

If I were to try to phrase it succinctly without writing a short essay on the specifics, I would say that Fox is more adaptable to the situation and is good at all of them. He has a better recovery, great throws, great kill moves, and amazing mobility that lets him thrive everywhere.
Falco is more about forcing the opponent to keep playing in situations that they are weak in. His lasers have stun so they lock down the opponent and limit their mobility, and his combo game is more guaranteed so once Falco gets in it's harder to get out.
You can read about specific move and character properties differences here http://www.ssbwiki.com/Falco_(SSBM)#Differences_with_Fox

No, the jiggs hate is definitely real. For people who want to know why, 3 educational videos. First is the "puff era" when every grand finals was mango vs hbox jiggs dittos. People started leaving the venue early before grand finals which is pretty much unheard of but no one wanted to watch 2 jiggs bair at each other. If you check the comments from back then people would post "bair counters" in youtube comments and every game would be in the hundreds. + Show Spoiler +Then, after mango took a break from puff, armada came to US we got YL vs Puff that timed out every other game. + Show Spoiler +(note the match length, again, this is grand finals) And after all those boring long videos, here's a short one on why the common player not at the top hates puff. (granted, andale is way better than arc to begin with) + Show Spoiler +It also didn't help mango hates hbox and called his style gay on smash boards every chance he got and everyone followed suit until hbox got known for only being able to use 2 moves (bair and rest). It's a bit late, but I wanted to thank you for this post; when I stopped following Melee Jigglypuff was known as a good but not top character, and I totally missed her rise. I actually watched at least some of all the videos you posted too(though not all of the Armada/HBox series), so it's interesting to see the rise of Puff in retrospect.

It's actually nothing like that. In fact, Fox is probably more defensive and mobile, while Falco is more reliant on control. Fox's superior lateral speed allow him to be pokey with nairs, while pressuring with SHDLs. Fox's versatility allows him to control more space, and play reactionary, while Falco is essentially all-in when he attacks.
This doesn't mean Fox is better than Falco - they're just different. Falco has some of the most brutally awesome combos in the game (pillaring is just the greatest feeling ever), and his Fsmash and Bair are much better side-killers than Fox's. However, he lacks the powerful upkill ability of Fox's stronger Usmash and Uair - both moves which Fox can launch from a considerable lateral distance. When you engage with Falco, you're not going to be moving away, poking, getting hits here and there - you're going to wear down your opponent's shield or mind with stunlasers, then move in for a vicious combo that can easily end with a 75% fsmash kill.
Losing to a superior Fox feels like "man, he's all over the place!"
Losing to a superior Falco feels like "man, I CAN'T FUCKING DO ANYTHING FUCK"

Lmao, losing to a good Falco definitely feels that way.

I only know the feeling of losing to a terribly bad Falco. Doesnt feel any better , I tell you that

I hated losing to Fox more than to Falco. I would just walk away feeling like, "man, there's nothing I can do, it feels like there's no openings and that he's everywhere at once."

Falco's is worst imo, and to most people I've encounter. Falco can control and take openings and combo you to oblivion much better than Fox. At least with Fox there are instances where you don't feel helpless and you don't get combo to hell.

That changes a lot once you play a really good fox like leffen

Same could be said for a really good Falco. The best Fox I've ever played in friendlies was M2K when he came to a local but I still feel more hopeless vs WC Falcos.

I haven't played in years and I never played on the level that you guys are describing, so basically at my fairly noobish level it just felt overwhelming.

they said they'd be up by Friday. Think a lot of them are still traveling back from the event.

Wheeeeee. I didn't see any games from day 3 :'( I can't wait to watch m2k vs dr. pee pee. I feel like m2k is like 30-70 vs dr pee pee, 10-90 against armada, but almost 45-55 ~ 55-45 vs mango. Need more space animals to dunk. Or dair, w/e.
